Director Zack Snyder has shared a new image from his "Snyder Cut" of Justice League, and it teases the long-awaited feature debut of popular DC Comics hero J’onn J’onzz, aka Martian Manhunter.
Though the still doesn't provide a look at J'onzz (that's actually Ray Fisher's Cyborg in some kind of enhanced battle armor), it does feature an ominous quote from the character: "There's a war coming."
We probably won't get a full reveal of the character until we sit down to watch the movie, but Snyder did give us a tease of his design via some concept art during a video interview last year.
Snyder has previously confirmed that his original vision for the film would have seen Harry Lennix's General Swanwick revealed to be Martian Manhunter in disguise. The plan was for Martha Kent (Diane Lane) to transform into the character as she left the room after speaking with Lois Lane (Amy Adams) in a scene which did make the theatrical cut.
The filmmaker said he was able to shoot everything except Lennix's scenes, so we assume this will be one of the restored sequences we see when Zack Snyder's Justice League premieres on HBO Max on March 18. Whether Martian Manhunter will have much more to do beyond that remains to be seen.
