SDCC 2017: Lego Previews Their Life-Sized Statue Of THE FLASH From The Upcoming JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie

Lego always has cool stuff for San Diego Comic-Con, and this year is no exception. Take a look at their life-sized version of The Fastest Man Alive from the highly anticipated Justice League movie.

Making those life-sized Lego statues that can be seen on convention floors is hard work, just ask Mark Roe, a 23 year Lego Master Builder veteran.  It's a painstaking process that can take hours and hours. This year Roe has been hard at work building the newest statue in Lego's arsenal, The Flash from the Justice League movie.

Mashable has all the details of the preparation that went into this year's statue, which included 60 hours of design work. They start off with a scan of the actor in his suit, and input the measurements into a 3D software to create a model. Once the model is complete they change it into different poses that might work for the build. After DC selects a pose they're happy with, Roe will move the model to the Lego Brick Building software to get a rough design.

Once the design has been approved, model shop builders get to work piecing together the statue. To ensure that the statue doesn't fall a part easily, builders use a solvent that melts the bricks together as well as custom steel armatures for extra support.

Have a look at the design below, and check out Justice League when it hits theaters on November 17, 2017.

Looks better than the actual costume lmao

@Ayush - better color contrast and saturation. Also, it's not overdesigned as the real suit.

It really bothers me that Flash has fingerless gloves, i don't know why, also that he isn't blonde, we have 2 flashes and neither is blonde

Looks awesome. But I still don't love the costume.
It just seems impractical and overcrowded.

@Valdez - I'm pretty sure they go out of there way to explain just how practical the suit is in this universe. A practical flashsuit might be overcrowded.
An impractical Flash suit might look prettier.

@Valdez -Looks good for a suit that he supposedly put together himself from scrap. He's no Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne. He's a CSI agent that probably can't even afford decent rent.
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/12/2017, 9:42 AM
@IronGenesis - I mean, he has fingerless gloves. Shouldn't a CSI agent know that isn't a smart move when you want to keep your identity secret?
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/12/2017, 9:45 AM
@Supafairy - Yeah, but I just don't like the design. The Flash's costume should be sleek and aerodynamic, not bulky and metallic.

Supafairy - 7/12/2017, 10:18 AM
@Valdez - Works in Injustice though...I like the armored look.
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/12/2017, 11:41 AM
@Supafairy - I'm not a fan of his Injustice look either. It's not a big deal, I just kind of wish they went with a more traditional costume. Maybe he'll get a new costume by the end of Justice League that I like better.
Supafairy
Supafairy - 7/12/2017, 11:47 AM
@Valdez - That's the rumor but I think it'll be armor-ish anyway, hopefully not as much DIY looking.
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/12/2017, 11:49 AM
@Supafairy - Yeah agreed. The armor could be done in a cool way, I'm just not loving his current costume.

@Valdez - Those The Flash's suit have to be super aerodynamic tho, by comic book theory i mean?

The speed force already means he doesn't after his surroundings and vice versa in the way that normal fast objects would be affected since "speeds greater than Mach 10, are dangerous to both the people and to the environment" and The Flash isn't so does he need to worry that much about regualar drag or like skin friction?

I mean it's probably more complicated but still
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/12/2017, 2:12 PM
@Hawknaba - That's true I guess. It just seems weird to me for a character defined by his speed and agility to have such a clunky and heavy looking suit, even if it wouldn't actually slow him down.
Hawknaba
Hawknaba - 7/13/2017, 8:17 AM
@Valdez - True, no ones gonna believe someone as bulky as like The Thing can go super fast
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/13/2017, 2:11 PM
@Hawknaba - Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Maybe in the movie it'll seem better, but so far I'm not loving his suit.
