This GOTHAM Star Is A Huge Fan Of The JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie, But He Does Have Some Good Questions

Some hated the newest DCEU entry, and some thought it was just ok. But Zack Snyder's Justice League received a ringing endorsement from Gotham star, David Mazouz. Read on for more...

The reviews for Zack Snyder's Justice League were definitely not as good as DCEU execs would have hoped they would be.

Critics tore the film apart, citing poor writing, nonexistent character development, and an ineffectively executed villain as the main reasons why the film was not successful. It went over better with die-hard fans, who were probably just stoked to see their favorite group of heroes finally brought together on the big screen. Add to all of that the fact that in its first weekend, Justice League brought in a dismal $94 Million domestically.

But one interesting individual felt the film was a huge hit.

Gotham star David Mazouz took to his Twitter page to heap praises  on the movie. He also had a few questions about some missing heroes and a cut scene.

The Green Lantern Corps actually did make a small appearance, via a flashback as Diana explains to Batman the history of the Mother Boxes and why Steppenwolf wants them. The scene Mazouz references is a scene shown in the San Diego Comic-Con trailer.

In a reply to the tweet, Mazouz brings up another very good question:

(In Alfred voice) We were ALL robbed young Bruce.

Justice League is in theaters now.

"But where was the green lantern - Alfred (“I️ knew you’d come”) teaser from the trailer??????"

[frick]ing good question.

@MrBillCipher - It wasn't a Lantern it was superman. Superman obviously went to get the suit that Bruce had and was repairing or correcting, as seen in the scene from the trailer where he's looking at the hologram. Either that or bruce made a brand new suit out of alien tech, explaining why it's suddenly brighter. It was cut because it just wasn't that important. It's essentially a little fill between the part where he's on the farm and where he goes to fight Steppenwolf. The scene was to get people talking, it sucks it was cut but it probably wasn't as important as people think.

There's no evidence there ever was a black superman suit in the movie apart from one insta mage from Cavil which probably just had a filter.

@BeyondtheFuture - true, but i think a lot of things that snyder shot got cut. this movie is like f4, the director shot a bunch of shit then studio got scared and brought someone else to finish the film. knowing snyder's add (attention deficit disorder) he probably shot it but the studio cut it and is now saving it for another film. apparently dark seid post credit was cut too. vfx showed iris west got cut so its not impossible but like you said there is no evidence....for now

@mastakilla39 - A LOT of the scenes from the trailer were clipped from the movie, so there's probably a whole other movie with all of the leftovers.

That is a great question... the biggest tease of all the trailers cut from the film? I enjoyed this movie, I’ve been waiting for a justice league movie since early 90s when I was a boy and before I even heard of avengers it was all about X-men and justice league. I think we all need to stop trying to be movie critics and roll with what we have. These movies have flaws but it doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy them. Side note: I’m pretty sure the consensus was that was Superman in the teaser with the red cape but I could be wrong...

I have a feeling it was actually Superman in that scene. After Alfred takes Lois to calm him and he flies off, could be that Superman flew to the Batcave or wherever they were based. Could even explain the repaired costume, if Bruce got the damaged one and repaired it, or created a new one for him. I'd imagine he probably took that suit and then ran into Alfred, which is when we get "He said you'd come", establishing how Superman knew where to find them.

It was Supes, in that short clip, you can see a piece of the red cape on the bottom of the frame. Watching the movie though, I assumed it might have been Lois, since she arrives with Alfred shortly after the resurrection.

In the end it's kind of a needless scene. Had it been either, it would have lessened the impact of the actual reveal later on(less so, in Lois' case).

There's going to be a directors cut, it's just too obvious.

@lDrunkenNukeml - I'm beginning to think it was WB's plan all along. DVD/BluRay sales of BvS UC & SS EC were probably too good to pass up. They know people will not only go to see these shortened films, but pay for the extended versions once they come out.

I'd say DLC has officially arrived in cinema.

The scene where Bruce was looking at Supergirl's hologram was also missing.

I know most people think Alfred was talking to Superman, but isn't Lois the one that makes the most sense? She was the contingency plan. Bruce set it up, and Alfred brought her to Superman.

@Saintsinnister - Unless Lois was the size of a T-Rex (the glass was shaking and you could clearly hear thundering footsteps or something), I seriously doubt it was her.

Saintsinnister - 11/21/2017, 10:29 AM
@Luminus - Never noticed the ground shaking when Superman enters a room, but I can see what you're saying. Thought it was a hype technique used in the trailer to build fan theories. Lois did seem to come from nowhere in the film, I just figured this was that scene, cut up to look like something bigger.

"No Kryptonian. No Lanterns. This world will fall."

Yup. He was right. Without Superman there to bitch-slap Steppenwolf, they would've lost.
