JUSTICE LEAGUE Director Zack Snyder Responds To 170-Minute Runtime Rumors

JUSTICE LEAGUE Director Zack Snyder Responds To 170-Minute Runtime Rumors

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was a long movie before the Ultimate Cut was released, but could Justice League be even lengthier? Zack Sndyer has taken to social media to clear things up!

As you may have seen this week, a lot of sites have been running stories claiming that Justice League will be a whopping 170 minutes long. This originated from IMDb of all places, and those who already aren't keen on the DC Films Universe, revelled in the opportunity to mock a 2 hours and 50 minutes team-up between the likes of Batman, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman.

Well, with Justice League still eight months away (it's really that far, unfortunately), it should come as no surprise that a runtime has yet to be decided on and producer and DC Films co-president Jon Berg took to Twitter to debunk these reports once and for all.

However, he then got a reply from Zack Snyder himself, a surprise considering how quiet he tends to be on social media in terms of rumours and the like. He too was quick to laugh these 150-minute claims off, so we're now back to waiting to find out how long the movie will be! Before then, we'll see plenty more from Justice League, including new trailers, stills, posters and interviews, so it shouldn't be too hard to be patient! As always, let us know your thoughts on this news in the usual place.

Making up rumours just to mock a film is sad, I don't care what you like or dislike.

@MattBellissimo - Unless it's a DC movie. Then it's okay.

@MattBellissimo -

Honestly, a longer runtime would probably be a good thing for Justice League. It would show that WB is not going to massively cut out elements just to try and make a bit more from fitting in extra showings.

@MattBellissimo - You know? I agree. It really pisses me off when people say "It's a DC film, therefore it will suck".

But people tend to forget the most acclaimed superhero movie so far IS from DC: The Dark Knight, By Christopher Nolan.

From DC, people forget they vilified many decisions. They vilified Michael Keaton before the movie, and thet vilified Ben Affleck as well (I liked his Batman).

And also people tend to forget Marvel also made a couple of weak films. I found Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World ver boring. I wonder why those 2 movies were not bashed as Man of Steel of Batman v. Superman were. In fact, I enjoyed both more than IM3 or Thor2.

I guess everyone has their reasons to like/dislike. I'm not supposed to be the judge of it. But to bash a movie because it's DC or Marvel is like judging a person by the color of his skin. It's not fair.

Wait for the movie, and bash it or love it after. Until then....

Not every movie has to be Lord of the Rings.

@tb86 - Aim for the same quality though.

@tb86 - @tb86 - Yeah, but at a 3 1/2 hour runtime, Return of the King still grossed over a billion dollars, in 2003!

@BillCipher999 - we should all keep in mind though that quality does not equal long run time.

@tb86 - except the Dark Tower. that shouldve been King's "LoTR".

@tb86 - Horrible advice. Every movie should try to be as good as Lord of the Rings.

I actually hope it's 3 hours, give the movie time to tell the story.

@TheBeard - Right?! Sign me up for a good JL movie that clocks in around 3hrs! Epic movies need Epic runtimes:

The Godfather: Part II (1974)
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Schindler's List (1993)
Seven Samurai (1954) <----Inspiration for JL
The Green Mile (1999)
Once Upon a Time in America (1984)
Ben Hur (1959)
The Deer Hunter (1978)
Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Blood In, Blood Out (1993)

ALL of those movies are 3hrs or longer. All are considered classics. I don't get how creating a rumor that the runtime will be just under 3 hours is supposed to be a slight to the film...

Shiiiit, it's what i'm hoping for!
