Though we don’t get a clear look at the character in the film; many fans speculated that the Green Lantern who cameoed in
Justice League's opening battle sequence was Yalan Gur - who was introduced in the '90s as a means of explaining the Golden Age Green Lantern's weakness to wood, and has never been a prominent character in the comics.
Some newly discovered concept art, found by Reddit user
Mephistopheles4Mirth, confirms the speculation that the character is indeed Yalan Gur and provides us with our best look at him yet.

Though the design looks slightly different from the final product, the signature attributes from the comic are all there. It may give us a hint at how some of the Lantern's mechanics function within the
DC Extended Universe and its
Green Lantern Corps film in particular.
The image was found on the 'WB Movies All Access app' and along with it came a description of the character:
The Green Lantern in this scene is Yalan Gur, who defended Earth and Sector 2814 in the 10th Century.
What do you think about this design? What do you think about Yalan Gur's cameo in
Justice League?
