As we know, Zack Snyder was originally planning to introduce Martian Manhunter and John Stewart in his director's cut of Justice League, but only J'onn J'onzz ended up in the finished film. Now, to mark the one-year anniversary of the movie's HBO Max release, actor Wayne T. Carr has shared our first official look at his take on the Green Lantern.
Snyder actually gave us a glimpse of this image on his phone during an Army of The Dead screening last year, but this is obviously a much higher-quality look at Carr in-costume as the ring-slinging hero.
The epilogue of ZSJL saw the Manhunter drop in for a chat with Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck), but Snyder later revealed that he shot the scene with Carr as Stewart before Warner Bros. stepped in. Apparently, the filmmaker was asked to use a different version of the sequence because the studio had other plans for the character (the currently in-development Green Lantern Corps movie, presumably).
Carr posted the still to Twitter with the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderVerse.
Warner Bros. revisiting the "Snyder Era" of the DCEU is a huge long-shot, which means Carr probably won't get to suit-up as John Stewart again. It's possible, of course, but the character will most likely be recast.
