Mark Millar Says There Will "Definitely Be A Sequel" To Kick Ass

The awesome Mr Millar told MTV that the ending of Kick Ass teases a sequel, one which we will definitely be seeing.

Apparently the final issue of the Kick Ass comic leaves the story ready and set to continue, and Mark Millar says the movie is no different.

"There's a basic plot," Millar told MTV News. "The series ends on a teaser for the next one, and the movie ends on that teaser, too."

There is no word as yet of director Mathew Vaughn's involvement, or if it would be Lionsgate distributing now that Marvel has gone over all mousy! But Millar seems very confident in the movie, and that we will be seeing a follow up.

"We don't want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good," Millar said. "It didn't cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one."

Well, judging from the footage we have seen, I can't argue with the man. It does look like something special. Let's hope it is.

This is cool...so does the movie encompass all of the issues that were made? Would the sequel be all original material?

@Snake Really now i'm interested. The only prob is if i'm going to shell out almost 25 bucks for tickests popcorn and drink. I'm not going to keep paying 3 bucks every month to get the same thing, and then pay another 25$

I guess the sequel will be origional material, unless he starts writing series 2 while Kick Ass is being distributed on DVD. Anyways, this flick looks soooo retarded, it's kick ass >;) Can't wait. Hey Ozy, lay off of Ror, respect your CBM elders, man.

Not suprised. The books is going to be continious (with gaps between each arcs mind) Millars quoted saying somewhere he could just write Kick-Ass for the rest of his life. And as the movie was independantly funded they could do however many they want.

The only fear I have for this movie is Lionsgate is distributing it and if their advertisement campaign (or lack of really) for Punisher War Zone was anything to go by I hope they get their act together. I really dont want Kick-Ass to flop simply because no one knew about it.

@Strange Yeah I know what you saying, luckily the first arc ends on issue 7 lol.

@Leee I think CAGE is awesome, always enjoyed hes material (cept for a few here and there). Must be one of those either love them or hate them person :)

I can't BELIEVE that CBM would allow such a crappy misspelling in a headline. I thought this was turning into a real, substantial website but that's an amateur move.

Hey I'm up for a sequel if the original holds up. The comic is really good, so this movie has some shoes to fill.
