Witchblade Hints at the Violence in Kick-Ass

Witchblade Hints at the Violence in Kick-Ass

Yancy Butler, star of the short-lived Witchblade TV series, gives us a taste of the comic book violence we can expect in the Kick-Ass movie!

Until recently, it was doubtful if director Matthew Vaughn's live-action film adaptation of Mark Millar's Kick-Ass comic book was going to get a theatrical release because of its excessive violence and coarse language. Millar explained that "the whores in Hollywood" had trouble with the strong language and extreme violence of the film, leaving us to wonder how graphic it could be.

Fortunately, actress Yancy Butler (Witchblade), who has a cameo in the film, recently described some footage at the Dallas Comic-Con:

"Nicolas Cage’s daughter (in the film), who wants to be a superhero basically, climbs up this gangster’s back, shoots him from below, and it turns into a comic book, where you see this blood splat like you would, but in pink. And you could see through the hole in his head. It’s completely fascinating."

Kick-Ass stars Aaron Johnson as Dave "Kick-Ass" Lizewski, Nicolas Cage as Damon "Big Daddy" Macready, Chloe Moretz as Mindy "Hit Girl" Macready / Hit Girl and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Chris "Red Mist" D'Amico.

Kick-Ass is scheduled for release in 2010!

Set2-I just finished Batman & Robin #1. I was skeptical at first as to whether I would care about a Batman universe without Bruce Wayne, but I was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to Red Robin and the other Bat-titles I have yet to pick up. And Kick-Ass looks hilarious!

Lionsgate is distributing I'm sure there will be a theatrical release and they wont make em tone down the violence either, look at Warzone that was pretty violent.

I looked at the picture of just the head and mask and thought to myself, "Is this going to the Scorpion for the next Spiderman movie!?"

Thankfully, that is not the case.
