Did Titan and a young Thanos appear in the Guardians of the Galaxy?

Could James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy final uncovered easter egg be the Mad Titan Thanos himself?

With the recent revelation that Thanos' home planet of Titan is no longer inhabited due to a devastation, a look back at the Guardian's of the Galaxy's Infinity Stone scene could paint a better picture of Thanos' motivations.

During the Collector's explanation of the Infinity Stones, we see the celestial Eson the Searcher 'mow down an entire civilisation like wheat in a field'. If you look to the left you could see a purple alien's face in agony.

Now that Entertainment Weekly's Avengers Infinity War article shed some light on Thanos' motivations, which seem similar to Jor-El's in Krypton, this GOTG scene seems to make some more sense.

Looking back at the D23 Trailer, Thanos says: "I know what it's like to lose, to feel so desperately that you're right".

This could mean several things, but perhaps Thanos saw his planet growing out of control and expanding rapidly. It could be that he wanted to destroy half the population to save TItan, but he was not allowed to. Instead, Titan could've gone out of control, leading to Eson the Searcher intervening and wiping out the population.

Of course this is just speculation. Let me know your thoughts!!!

Cool theory. Especially the part about him wanting to use population control.

Hopefully I can rewatch for that purple alien's face. Also I tried to thumb up the article but it still says +1.

I don't think that is a young Thanos, but it definitely could be Titan and one of his people.

Interesting. This could be that undiscovered Easter Egg that James Gunn insists is still out there.
