In a live video event, Marvel and Disney have just unveiled plans for over 18 playable Marvel characters to feature in Disney Infinity . The Disney Infinity starter pack will feature 3 of The Avengers as well as The Avengers Play Set piece.
Confirmed characters so far include Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow with Guardians of the Galaxy members Groot and Rocket Raccoon. Villains featured in the game includes M.O.D.O.K, Loki and the Frost Giants. Disney Infinity will feature Agent Coulsons car Lola which will be playable and will indeed fly!
The announcement also featured Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D), Joe Quesada, Chief creative officer at Marvel and Marvel comic book wrier Brian Michael Bendis.
Quesada said of the partnership
"Disney Infinity has its own unique style, just like all the artists that work on the comics have their own unique style."
All Disney Infinity 1.0 figures and powers are compatible with 2.0 which will be available on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Nintendo Wii U, and iOS/PC tablets.
A secret message by Nick Fury at the end of the announcement hinted that more characters will be revealed at the E3 expo during June 10 -12.
