THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN 2 Minimates Confirm Another Character?

With the trailer confirming and hinting at several major characters, many wondered who or what else SONY could throw in to "The Amazing Spider-Man 2." Well, if a toy series is anything to go by, we might have one more character popping up!

According to toy news site ToyArk.com, MARVEL Minimates Wave 56 will be dedicated to SONY's "Amazing Spider-Man 2." Here is the official quote:

"Marvel Minimates Series 56: Amazing Spider-Man 2 Asst.
The most eagerly anticipated sequel of the year is getting a sequel set of Minimates! This assortment will include four two-packs, including Battle-Damaged Spider-Man with Electro, Spider-Man with Norman Osborn, Graduation Peter with Gwen Stacy and a rare, one-per-case set featuring Alistair Smythe with Aleksei Sytsevich! Each Minimate mini-figure stands 2 inches tall, with 14 points of articulation and a variety of interchangeable parts and accessories. Designed and Sculpted by Art Asylum! (Item #JAN141927, SRP: $9.99ea.)"

Notice the rare, one-per-case item: Alistar Smythe and Aleksei Sytsevich. As many fans of the comics and 90's cartoon know, Smythe is the creator of the Spider-Slayers. Many have said that the Rhino's mechanical suit resembles a Spider-Slayer, so maybe it's not a coincidence that those two are paired together.

Do we have another member of the Sinister Six, or just the person who makes their armory?

I'm still pretty sure Smythe will be a small role for Novak.

@crashrendar

Gargan was Scorpion
Then he was Venom.
Then during Civil War he became Spiderman (Dark Avengers)

If Novak would end up being Gargan The Scorpion ... now that would be something.

How hilarious would it be if there was a "dead Gwen" minimate? :D

If Diamond has a pretty successful way of making the minimates and the diamond select. Why don't they make 3.75 inch toys that Hasbro and Mattel have not been doing so well on. MANY people enjoy those types of toys and they would get alot of dough!!!
