After looking up his character, I've always thought he would be a great character to use in the movies. This new look is dope.

@nibs,
I'm the same way but mostly because I can't keep up. All these multiple titles and crossover events are tiring.
I see Marvel is getting back into the original graphic novel line and I hope DC follows suit.
Some of the best stories are out-of-continuity stories that have a clear beginning, middle, and end.

ugh Levi was so right about this place. Marvel fans outnumber Dc fans a lot on here. Even the ones who claim they like Dc follow the trend n this site and shit on Dc. Damn. Thats a shame.

Like whats really wrong about them making a old character new. Yes the new 52 did make some bad decisions. But I see nothing wrong with this one. Which is why I know most of you are following the trend.

Wouldn't "Anti-Bat" sound better?

Marvel and DC can't create new characters anymore so they are left with stuff like this. Ever since 1991 when comic creators realized they could self publish their creations Marvel and DC have had very few new characters that would be considered great ideas.

Theres probably less than 10 among both of them. And derivatives such a Red Hulk and Scarlet Spider dont count.

Marvel's so desperate theyre using McFarlane's "Angela" which was stolen by Neil Gaiman.

Sick art right there. Bat-villains are the best.
storyteller

Wrath is the original anti batman. He exists less to fight Batman and just happens to be on the side of criminals(depending on the origin). Owl Man exists to be the evil Batman. Hush more the evil Bruce. Prometheus is an anti batman for the Justice League. The new Owlman is an evil Batman for Gotham.

Red Hood was more of a Dark Robin/Nightwing as opposed to Batman. And of course now he's back on the side of good.

I like Batman, but I don't read Batman (if that makes sense). But I like the looks of this. The Wrath is an obscure Bat villain, and I think it's cool they're giving him a revamp. It's true they're are several villainous Batman analogues running around the DCU: Owl Man, Hush (Sort of), and Prometheus. Prometheus was a great concept (especially the origin, Morrison gave him), but the costume was a bit hokey. Unfortunately, anyone who's handles Prometheus besides Morrison ruined that character. Anyways, I agree with storyteller, The Wrath is the best 1:1 analogue in that he isn't a reaction to Batman.

Shit looks cool; dont have a clue about the character but he looks like a cross between Prometheus and a Talon... Definitely worth a look!

The oversized, overpriced 800th issue of Detective was a huge disappointment.

More armor please!
Armor proves just how serious a person is - unless you're female.
it's just stoopid to adventure around when you're [a male] not fully armored in this fictional-more-realistic-universe!
And helmets! More thick, hi-tech helmets.
No fvcking cowls. No sir-ree.
A guy could get hurt out there.

Ummm...isn't this just like the Court of Owl's Owl character?

And, seriously, "The Wrath"? Really? Did they discover last minute that "The Wraith" was already taken?

'Tec has been the weakest of the Bat-titles, right from the first ish. Violence and gore do not make a book compelling. A little more creativity, please.

@nibs

Haha looks like we got into comics at the exact same time. Man, Johns was really on fire back then. I kind of have the same problem as you, although my problem seems to be that there's just so much to keep up with. And no book keeps the same creative teams anymore, which makes the quality wax and wane unbelievably.

Wasn't Prometheus supposed to be written as the anti-Batman? I thought they purposely made him to be negative image of Bruce. Kind of weird not to use him.
