It seems that Christian Bale has decided to break his silence on the now world famous (or infamous) tirade he had on the set of Terminator: Salvation.

Bale went on the Kevin and Bean Show on KROQ radio to offer a mea culpa for his profanity laced tirade. "It's been a miserable week for me," Bale said on the air. He went on to admit what millions of people found out this week, "Listen, I know I have a potty mouth, everybody knows this now."

Bale continued to apologize for the incident, relating his regret over the incident:

"The thing that I really want to stress is I have no confusion whatsoever. I was out of order beyond belief. I was way out of order. I acted like a punk. I regret that. There is nobody that has heard that tape that's been hit harder by it than me. I make no excuses for it. It is unexcusable. I hope that that is absolutely clear."

He's hoping that it makes it better grif, but i don't know if it will. Even in this apology, you get the sense that he is more upset about the fact that he HAS to apologize for it. "it's been a miserable week for me".... we don't necessarily feel sorry for you...

I didn't think it was that big a deal until i heard it. i know actors, and they get into this "method acting" zone that is straight twilight Zone. But after I heard it, I understood why everybody on this site was so outraged...

Version- I think you nailed it right on the head! The audio tape supposedly took place last year, right? Did the Princess apologize back then to the DP? PROBABLY NOT! If he knew he was acting like a 'punk', don't you think he'd be a man, suck it up and say 'I'm sorry' waaaaaay back then? Or, manybe it just took him an entire year to come to the conclusion that MAYBE (just maybe) his actions were SLIGHTLY inappropriate. Hmmmmm.....

Christian Bale should buy Michael Phelps an island somewhere for getting caught smoking weed. That was the only thing that overshadowed Bale in celebrity news this week lol.

You can tell he's really sorry about it, because it took him a year to apologize :)

Very good points gentlemen. Yes Version4, i do believe he's using the "victim" card here. Thing is, don't go admitting that you are a victim of your own temper without doing anything about it. He admits it and says he's sorry which means jack shit to me unless i see pictures of him signing up for anger management.

I would respect him more if he wouldn't have apologized. Not because I think what he did was right (I think he was wrong) but because I believe that in reality he is a short-fused asshole. I'm fine with him being an asshole. I just think if you're going to be an asshole you should be the most assholish asshole you can be and not apologize for that. But he sold out and apologized. The only thing he didn't do to explain it away was check himself into some rehab center and blame it on the addiction du jour. Typical Hollywood crap.

Oh, please.. People cuss all the time.. Everyone is talking snap but they don't know the pressure actors go through every day. I've been recording and its incredibly stressing to just hear the director say "Cut" And "Go back from scratch" That just messes with you, specially when you are trying really hard on doing a good job. And that's me In a low budget movie-- IMAGINE, in a movie like this that everyone has been expecting for so long.

Now, I'm not saying that it was right! I'm just saying that you have to see things from the actor's perspective. This was not that he was drunk or drugged it was just that he was stressed out.

Show me someone that says don't cuss and I'll show you a liar!"

So Bale had to make a Apology for doing the right thing what kind of logic in this It make no sense for him to apology he did nothing wrong

Oh well That American for you It ok to give a award for a actor that kill himself doing Drugs but its BAD of you to set someone straight even if that someone should of ever been there in the first place

Since hearing his outburst one thing has bothered me.Yeah Bale was out of line but then again who the frack hasn't lost their cool at some point in their life only to later on go back and apologize to the person they offended?Anyone here says they haven't then you and only you have to live with the fact you're a liar.Well unless you weren't big enough to apologize then well you would only be half a liar..:)
Which brings me to this point. If you guys listened to the "entire" recording Bale did indeed state that everything was settled "that day".It didn't take him a year to apologize to the DP.For pete's sake some of you are taking such a high ground on this. The man is having to publicaly apologize now cuz someone decided to make this outburst public otherwise none of us would have ever known.Give the man a break and lets move on.

The one that is really in the wrong is McG for letting that shit happen, because it is always the Director's set and they run the set.

Oh come on. I'm sure none of you are qualified to be able to judge whether a person is being sincere or not. I know I'm not, but I do feel that this apology is genuine. Obviously he doesn't HAVE to apologize or else he'd do it in a more public way. He was thankful to the radio guys for giving him the chance to explain himself. He also explained that he is now on good terms with the DP who he shouted at LAST SUMMER. It was ages ago and had it not been for the tape it would be water under the bridge. Although I was one of the many shocked by his out burst. I don't think he owes anyone an apology now. The only one deserving of an apology was the DP and he probably got it later that day up to six months ago. Christian Bale is no "Superstar" he is hardly ever in the papers and he's not out to piss anyone off so give him a break already. He's had to live with the regret of that incident since July and now he's made to relive it after it's been long dealt with. I appreciate everything Christian Bale has done. I have not yet seen him in something I didn't enjoy.

I don't think a public apology was necessary. I don't think I would have apologized in his shoes. I would have gone on the Late Show and had some fun with it. Its not like he killed or raped the guy, he just gave him a royal *** chewing.

Well there's a big fat "I told you so". Who didn't know he was going to make a public apology? C'mon, whether they kissed and made up that day or not. He KNEW that day, the audio would eventually come out and he would have to say "I'm sowwie" to the guy on public television/radio to make things "all bettew".

It's an inevitability in actors/actresses/musicians/superstars etc to make public apologies to people they offend. It gives them publicity and makes them look good. That is all.

Well Gose, I would like an apology from all the people who voted for President Obama. He sure has done a crack up job and it's only been two weeks. I wonder if I didnt pay my taxes what would happen? Yup, I am sure the streets will be paved in gold real soon.

My bad, I voted for Obama. He has change powers amd I like his healthcare program. Bale definately waited until it was pretty late but who cares, if he worked it out with the crew and specifically the DP his significant emotional event occured with, you know the guy he was insulting to, not us, then I think we can let it go. If his performance in Terminator sucks then I will be a critic and run my mouth.

Obama has been in office for two weeks, tbarnett. Do you have any idea how long it takes to get any legislation through the government? Hateing Obama for stupid crap like that is just like people hateing on Bush when he just got into office. Do you like it when people treat Bush unfairly? No, so why are you doing the same thing with Obama? Give the damn guy at least a year before you bring out the tar and feathers. Sheesh.

On a similar note this is a discussion board for comicbook movies. You can say what you want, sure thats fine and well, but if you bring in politics it will stir up a beesnest worth of hate and resentment, and do we really need to be bickering and throwing insults at one another on this site? We do it enough over DBE and Watchmen ;)

Oh yeah, and Bale's a jerk-off who got caught being a jerk-off. Wont really stop me from watching his movies. Ill just think has a jerk-off, and if I, or anyone else who heard this tape, ever have a chance to meet him, ill treat him like a jerk-off. Thats social karma and a punishment in-and-of-itself.

Who really gives a rat's ass if chewed out a dp or not? The man was walking through the middle of a scene... for the SECOND TIME!! Would a roadie walk out in the middle of a stage during a concert to check to see if a microphone is working? NO! Would an actor walk into a studio set and tell the dp where the f*&@ to hang the lights? NO! The rant was too long & he overreacted, big deal, anyone else ever do that? Now the audio comes out and he has to apologize? F that. I don't care if he's sincere or not, he made up with the guy a looooooooooong time ago, so it's done. I'm sure he thought it was done and over with. But since some news people have nothing else to report on I guess, they gotta come up with this crap. For a guy to apologize for something that happened over a year ago, you gotta swallow a lot of pride to do that. My props to him. It's not gonna stop me from watching his movies, & I don't think it'll affect his career, if anything, all this just made it better.

Shadowelfz I find it kind of funny that while you felt the need to lecture somebody on talking about politics on here you also felt the need to add to the political discussion as well. I'm not trying to be an ass. I'm just pointing out that while you're talking about stirring up a "beesnest worth of hate and resentment", what you said could have just added fuel to the flames.

I think a simple "Hey let's not get into a political debate on here" would have sufficed.

On that note, "let's not get into a political debate on here":)

Honestly, for the first time ever maybe...I agree with SUpermike. He doesnt need to apologize. He might of gone "over board with the profanity"...but for him to yell and tell the IDIOT DP to get off the stage several times...that just ridiculous.

I think he feels GUILTY. Which is fine for why he apologized, he should onyl apologize for dropping profanity and going HULK on that guy. Rather then apologize because he was mad, he had every right to be mad. Hes an Actor. Hes not Tom Cruise where he has cuts after every 2 lines. lol

swampy417 Tiger73 and potatosacker71 you are spot on. oh wait, no one ever gets mad and loses their temper and says things they regret...ever. LOL. most peeps on here are so ridiculous. the guy shouldn't have to apologize for yelling at a DP that screwed up. Apologize for taking it too far yes but come on. AND NONE OF YOU KNOW WHAT THAT JOB IS LIKE...TRUST ME!! next point: if you listen to the whole thing...he SAID he apologized to the guy that day and they are friends and have since worked together...he said he doesnt think hes better than anyone...and if you know anything about him...you'd know he's legit. AND..to BuckyB7588 and lagononeil...hes just now apologizing where we hear it because its just now coming to our attention...get a freakin clue..why would he apologize to us for something we're unaware of..and once again...like i said before...and like he said..he apologized personally to the guy that day. Theyre friends. and as i've said on other posts, of course him apologizing to the guy isn't going to make news...thats conveniently left out. Anyone that knows anything about Bale knows he's down to earth and he's legit.

i'd like to hear from the DP himself.

hey version4...he's not looking for anyone to feel sorry for him...he said he's had a terrible week probobly because he thought this crap wouldnt happen. why should he have to make a public statement...that happened forever ago and he apologized to the guy that day...its no one elses business...its between God, Bale, the DP and McG. No one else.
ALSO...he said he felt he deserved to be called out because hes not ever the type to think hes better than anyone or want them fired...he was as he said himself blowing hot air cuz he was pissed...youd be too. let me come into your job and screw up your entire days work and see if youre not pissed. lol. all that being said...if you actually LISTEN to the whole thing...you can tell hes not looking for sympathy. to 'Betty'
Hes apologizing..and the reason he mentions still going to see the film is because he doesnt want people to not watch it based on the 'outburst' and it ruin everyones hard work..NOT because he is an ego maniac.
yikes...i dont think you haters even really listen to this thing did you!? hahahha
