Today, RunDisney has formally announced the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend, taking place November 14-16, 2014. Weekend events include a half marathon, 5K, kids' races and a race Expo.

Disney is known for extravagant races based on their properties, but until now, the themes have been directed more towards women, with evens like the Tinkerbell Half Marathon and the Disney Princess Half Marathon. In recent years, Disney has expanded their offerings to include adventure races and the adult-themed "Wine and Dine Half Marathon". It was only a matter of time before Disney took advantage of the extreme popularity of the Avengers franchise.

Registration opens next month, on March 25th, and Disney's races are known to sell out fast. If you plan on participating, get your Stark tablet ready to register and book a flight on a Quinjet to the start line.

My sister just did the Disney marathon. If you live in the Florida area, I think it would be super fun.
