We've talked ad nauseum about the Snyder Cut of
Justice League, and short of a miracle, it's probably not going to see the light of day. We don't even know if the Snyder Cut exists, but it DOES sound like a "Butthole Cut" of
Cats is a very real thing and sitting somewhere ready to view.
The Tweet below has gone viral after claims that a VFX artist was hired to work on the critically panned film with his sole job being to digitally remove the photo-realistic cat buttholes.
You really can't make this up!
Tom Hooper's movie attempted to use CGI to blend human actors and cats, and the version of Cats which ended up in theaters was later replaced with one touting "improved visual effects." It still bombed, though, and grossed $74.41 million worldwide on a budget of nearly $100 million.
A 20% Rotten Tomatoes score was perhaps the final nail in the musical's kitty litter box, but it's hard to deny that getting to see Taylor Swift and Judi Dench's buttholes in the same film would have been perhaps the most unique theatrical experience of 2019...
