THE PUNISHER: Impressive New Fan-Made Poster Takes Aim At A Potential Disney+ Series

We still don't know what the future holds for The Punisher in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we have heard rumors of a potential Disney+ series. For now, have a look at this impressive fan-made poster.

Though we still don't have anything close to official confirmation, the signs are pointing to Marvel Studios reintroducing at least some of the characters from the now cancelled Netflix Marvel shows, and keeping the original actors on to play them.

Charlie Cox is expected to return as Matt Murdock/Daredevil for Spider-Man 3 (as well as the Disney+ She-Hulk series), and there's been talk of Krysten Ritter stepping back into the role of Jessica Jones now that Marvel has regained the rights.

What about Jon Bernthal's take on The Punisher?

A rumor recently did the rounds that Bernthal is expected to arm-up as Frank Castle for some kind of MCU reboot, and while that seems like a long-shot, Boss Logic has now shared an impressive poster for a potential Disney+ series based around the exploits of the ultra-violent vigilante. The crosshairs on the logo are a particularly nice touch!

Bernthal has previously hinted that we may not have seen the last of The Punisher, and to say his interpretation of Frank Castle was popular with fans would be an understatement. Such a brutal character wouldn't necessarily seem like a good fit for the family-friendly MCU - especially not as a Disney+ series - but we know that Deadpool 3 will be R-rated, so the studio is clearly planning to expand into uncharted waters at some point in the near future.

Do you think we'll see Bernthal back in the saddle as The Punisher?

@Waddles - Its one of those "way too early for that, but I would take it now if I am being honest with myself because its too damn cool" situations.

I would love to see Punisher back, especially with Jon Bernthal, but this one is going to have to go to Hulu. Punisher is a little much for Disney haha

Intertionally Disney+ has Star now, so that would be the solution outside US (which would need to be on Hulu I suppose).

As much as I'm all for movies and shows sticking to the PG-13 rating and that pretty much everything from Marvel and DC CAN in fact stick to that rating while remaining true to the characters (looking at you Once Upon a Deadpool), there's no way this could happen. It's not even so much about the outright violence, it's the merciless, unhinged vengeance that is Frank Castle. He is in no way a redeemable character, which is what makes him so amazingly fascinating. My wife was devastated when Frank didn't come around near the end of Daredevil Season 2, but I knew that he couldn't. He's good, but he's insane, and that kind of judge, jury, and executioner darkness just can't be done by Disney. Maybe as a crossover character, but he's not an anti-hero like Catwoman that has her own agenda but ultimately comes around when push comes to shove. Frank Castle is the push, the shove, and everything in between.

Would love to see Tom Holland try to banter with him, though.

@SummersEssex - 75+% of punisher comics would not be rated R if they were literally translated into films. People want punisher and deadpool to be R when most of there best material would never come near that rating

@SummersEssex

Once Upon a Deadpool was a lot worse than the theatrical cut. Not sure that’s a great example.

@Hulkh8liars - Yep but those comics are not what made him stand out.

The idea behind that Disney+ logo is good, but it still looks kinda weird.

Anyways, I doubt we'll get a Punisher show (neither on D+ or Hulu). Hoping to see him with Daredevil in a show with Moon Knight, Blade and Ghost Rider though.
