Interview With Predators Walter Goggins

"I think that the images in this movie are going to rival any other movie in its genre for quite some time"

Predators will be appearing this July 7th in theaters everywhere. The movie, along with the Aliens franchise, helped to launch comics, video games and the widely panned Vs. movies. This movie is a direct sequel to the '80s classic, ignoring all other film incarnations and boasts an impressive cast of actors including Oscar Winner Adrian Brody (King Kong), Topher Grace (Spider-Man 3), Danny Trejo (Machete), Alice Bragga (I Am Legend), Walton Goggins (The Shield) and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix). There is a reported cameo for Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as Dutch but nothing has been confirmed. MovieWeb got a chance to ask Goggins a few questions about the film.

Walter was asked his thoughts on the upcoming sequel:

"I think that you're going to get to see a combination of classic Predators with a modern twist told by very, very competent filmmakers, I think that the images in this movie are going to rival any other movie in its genre for quite some time"

The original had some rather large cast members alongside Arnold with Carl Weathers, Jesse Ventura and Sonny Landham. What about this cast?

"Absolutely, it was extraordinary. It really was extraordinary. I think the thing that I'm most excited about is our lack of someone that is really big"

But for the most part we are all average builds and I think that gives people an opportunity to see themselves in this movie. At the end of the day I think the thing that I'm most excited about is it's not just an action movie but it's a movie about these characters that hopefully you will grow to love over the course of the story."

Walter Goggins can be seen next with Timothy Olyphant in the new FX series, Justified. Click the Link for the full interview.

So time period wise...is this between the 80's Pred movie and the Future Pred2 movie?

It would be cool to had Arny make a cameo..maybe as a captured human on the pred ship.

@vonstallin-This is the actual Pred2 movie, basically. There was a script for around for a long time by Robert Rodriguez. Arnie didn't want to do it. They took his script and retooled it. This movie doesn't acknowledge the Danny Glover sequel or even the AVP movies.

I didn't even notice Walter Goggins played in this before now. That's cool :D

But Laurence Fishburne and Adrien Brody ARE big names...? :S And Danny Trejo has a very familiar face to most movie watchers, so I wouldn't exactly say it "lacks" big names.

AVP wasn't all that bad I just wish they would have taken it out of space. Like this one. 1st Predator will be hard to beat!

In all fairness, why do we even need big buff guys fighting a Predator(s)? It kinda doesn't make any sense anyway, since the Predators are like 3x stronger regardless of how big you are (that Predator threw around Arnold like he was nothing in that film). He had to use tactics and cleverness to win, and these characters are normal so they will have to use their brains or get pwned lol.

You cant beat the 1st Predator... nothing will ever top that lol =D RR is awsome, we'll see if he doesn't get to stupid with trying to reinvision what a Pred is supposed to be.

Note to Topher Grace's PR rep and any and all film makers:
DO NOT (by any means) introduce Topher Grace as "Topher Grace of 'Spider-man 3' fame"!!!
That is all. :)

o and btw, Goggins' head is about as ridiculous in size as the actual Predators'.
