We got word last night that the first teaser trailer for The Predator would be with us at some point today, and it just debuted online!

The first footage from director Shane Black's relaunch of the popular sci-fi franchise sets up the story by introducing us to the human characters (played by Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Sterling K. Brown etc), but it's not long before we get our first glimpse of the titular alien hunters in action.

Apparently, this is a little different to the trailer that screened at CinemaCon recently, though some of the same shots were used.

Check out the teaser below, along with a new still from Empire which gives us a look at one of the Predators without its mask.

The Predator is set to hit theaters on September 14, 2018. You can check out the most recent synopsis below.

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

Nice, as someone who grew up on these types of movies I love it. Cannot wait and also shocked by how good the cast is.

Also loved The Nice Guys and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. I didn't even mind Iron Man 3

@SimplyAz - I really hope this movie is good. The original Predator is such a fantastic movie, no sequel since has even come close to the excellence of that film. I found this teaser to be... alright. Honestly, wished they had shown more of the Predator. Also, I hope the kid isn't treated as some super intelligent, unrealistic 8 year old that can operate Predator technology and is somehow controlling them...

@SimplyAz - The problems with Iron Man 3 were not the fault of Shane Blacks direction and writing. Maybe some of the choices didn't land well with fans but the interplay between the actors, the dialouge and the action was pretty sweet

@HeavyMetal4Life - Completely agree, wish we had more Predator and hopefully the film has the camaraderie between all of the characters the original did.

Children in movies can be tricky, hopefully he isn't annoying

@Bokis - His writing absolutely was the problem, not the directing per say, but the story was some re-imagined trash that should have never been.

@Bokis - I understand why a lot of people didn't like it and it took a lot of risks. But I did enjoy it and that's as someone whose not always a fan of Iron Man.

@narrow290 - it's only the nerds who didn't like iron man 3. General public were ok with it
