The first season of sci-fi drama See received a mixed response from critics, but it evidently fared better with viewers because Apple TV+ has now renewed the show for a third run. The streamer has also debuted the first trailer for season 2, which introduces Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista as Baba Voss' (Jason Momoa) brother, Edo Voss.

It doesn't look like the pair are set for a warm family reunion, however, as Edo has captured Baba's daughter, and the final shot of the trailer teases what should be an epic showdown between the two.

See is a post-apocalyptic drama series set thousands of years in the future when most of the Earth's population is has been stricken blind by a mysterious virus. Momoa plays the leader of a warrior tribe named Baba Voss, who must protect two children from his village when they are born with the ability to see. The show is written by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders) and directed by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games franchise).

Check out the trailer below, and let us know if you plan on checking out season 2 of See.

Eden Epstein (Sweetbitter), Tom Mison (Watchmen), Hoon Lee (Warrior), Olivia Cheng (Warrior), David Hewlett (The Shape of Water) and Tamara Tunie (Flight) are also on board as new season 2 regulars. Returning cast members includes Alfre Woodard as Paris, Hera Hilmar as Maghra, Sylvia Hoeks as Queen Kane and Christian Carmago as Tamacti Jun.

See returns for its second season on August 27.

Haven't watched. Is it worth a watch? I'm just not sure i want to see Momoa growling around in another role. Don't get me wrong though, the guy has a good screne presence, and really cant wait to see him in Dune.

@dragon316 - long winded and almost nonsensical, but thanks.

Yes ultimately it's for the individual to make up their mind, but you can't say that reviews and word of mouth from respected peers isn't a good indicator on how a product or content is favoured.

You have a good day now.

Basically just do the opposite of what dragon316 does and you'll be fine then.

I enjoyed the first season.

Not perfect by any means but I was very impressed with the world building. They really put a lot of thought into developing a sightless culture and it came across in a very believable manner. The sightlessness definitely added a lot of tension and the battles were pretty intense.

I'd say it's worth a look if you can get APPLE TV on a trial basis. They were giving away a full free year when I had it. 👁

@marvel72 - Lots of people do, that joke is getting old. And people probably don't talk about it here because this is COMICBOOKmovie.com. Apple TV+ has no superhero/comicbook shows. I've rarely seen any news about shows from there posted here, not even sure why this was.

Maybe Foundation will change that though.

Looks cool but nothing I would subscribe to AppleTV for.
Streamers tend to forget that what's driving people to them is established franchises!

HBO Max should have baited people with a Harry Potter themed show, Apple could have done a Ghostbusters show etc.
That franchise gold is what made D+ and Netflix such a success

Surprised to see David Hewlett is involved. I remember reading something a while back that there had been some bad blood between them on the set of Stargate Atlantis.

The premise though...
Why even have jewelry or any ornamentation?
Why have shots of characters overlooking skylines etc..
I just can't buy into it.

I'm glad for Dave that he is getting better roles than the goofball he became in the Guardians flicks.
