The GODZILLA Sequel Finally Has A Title And King Kong May Want To Watch His Back

Legendary has finally given the upcoming Godzilla sequel a title, and it's one King Kong may want to worry about, especially as the two iconic monsters are set to clash on the big screen in 2020!

In a press release announced the hiring of three veteran production executives to its feature film division, Legendary Pictures revealed the title of the upcoming Godzilla sequel. Gareth Edwards won't be at the helm of the follow-up, but it sounds like we can still expect big things to come as it's going to be called Godzilla: King of Monsters. King Kong will surely have something to say about that, right?

It's in 2020 that those two are set to clash on the big screen, and that could be why Legendary has given Godzilla the title of "King." While it's unlikely that these two are going to fight for the right to hold that moniker, this does a great job of setting the stage to make their encounter even more epic.

In other title news, it's also been confirmed that the upcoming Pacific Rim sequel will indeed be called Pacific Rim: Uprising. What do you guys think of Legendary calling Godzilla the "King of Monsters"? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this news in the comments section.
