Empire Magazine has revealed a cool new Alien: Covenant cover which uses even more unique imagery to tease the impending arrival of the new Xenomorphs we'll see in the upcoming prequel/sequel from Ridley Scott. Needless to say, it's a haunting piece of imagery and one which brings back memories of Alien rather than Prometheus, something fans of the franchise will no doubt appreciate in a big way.

A brief synopsis for the highly anticipated movie was also revealed last year, and it teases: "Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the ‘synthetic’ David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition."

The cast of Alien: Covenant also includes Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Noomi Rapace, and Guy Pearce, and as you can see below, it will be released on May 19th.

I still have pretty ambiguous feelings towards this movie as a whole, but the posters etc are mostly pretty good. And then there's that one:

Wow, that is quite awesome.

Never thought I'd find myself actually intrigued and a bit hyped for an Alien movie.

No arguments on their marketing stuff, it's been very good.

I love it! I subscribe to EMPIRE so I'll be getting this.

I also love the movie poster for it, it's a thing of beauty. H.R. Giger would be proud.
