DOCTOR WHO: New BTS Snap Reveals Series 8 Villains

We recently had our first real look at the new series of Doctor Who via a brief teaser, and now thanks to an image posted by the BBC we know which classic villains Peter Capaldi will be facing. Just in case the thumbnail doesn't give it away, it's the Cybermen!

The BBC posted the below image featuring our new Doctor Peter Capaldi and co-star Michelle Gomez, along with some imposing looking silver gentlemen I'm sure you'll all recognize.

The first episode of the new series is called "Deep Breath", and will apparently be feature length. Doctor Who returns on BBC One in the UK on Saturday, August 23, and a US premiere on BBC America is also expected for that date.

Goddammit. Can't we have one season without Cybermen, Daleks or Angels?

Daleks and Cybermen are the Klingons of Doctor who.

I'm cool with them popping up at least once a season.

And with a new Doctor you need them to show up to really make the viewers not comfortable with regeneration that yes this is still Doctor Who.

The Cybermen actually didn't interact with the 9th Doctor, so there's a whole season without - and the two plots with the 10th Doctor were some of the best written episodes.

And yeah, I think ever since Iron Man, the Cybermen have adopted that look. Ironically, Neil Gaiman wrote that episode, though I doubt he had anything to do with the design change.

The Sixth Doctor's second episode had him mixed up with the Cybermen in the (present day) 80s, you know, after he sort of stopped being a psycho. Might as well have been his first episode for me, considering how freaking HORRIBLE 'the Twin Dilemma' was, I stopped watching halfway through. I wonder if that's a coincidence. Let's hope the Twelfth Doctor doesn't start strangling Clara all of a sudden...

Moffat doesn't know how to write female characters? Uh since when. The female characters he's written and created have been some of the best on the show.

Yeah, a bit tired of seeing Daleks, and Cybermen. They could do with a break from the classic villains for awhile. Doesn't matter who the villains are at the end of the day, though, with Moffat at the helm. Really hope he reels himself in for Capaldi, cause the potential for Twelve to be great is huge.

You're all complaining about a show that's been on for 50 years recycling nostalgic villains and most of you read comics...

Thw final episode is called Time and the Master. It will feature the New MASTER. John Simm has said he would only do a Regeneration scene into the next Master. He wants to be known as David Tennant Doctor's Master. It will also feature the return of the Master. The story is the Master works out what happened to the timelords and works out how to bring them back. The Master becomes the Leader of the Timelords.

Looks like doctor who to me. I hope Capaldi knocks this out of the park, so glad we've got an older doctor again.
