Colin Trevorrow Confirms That The Original T-Rex Will Return For JURASSIC WORLD
After seeing the first images of the T-Rex from Jurassic World, it was rumored and speculated that, that was the same T-Rex from the first film. If you did make that assumption, you were correct! The original T-Rex will return for Jurassic World! Hit the jump for more details!
In a new interview with SlashFilm, Colin Trevorrow confirmed that the Tyrannosaurus Rex from Steven Spielberg‘s Jurassic Park will be making her return in Jurassic World. “The T. rex that’s in the film is the T. rex from the original Jurassic Park. She is 22 years older. But she’s not limping around.” He then added, "She's still alive. She’s a little older, and she’s angry." When asked whether or not we’d notice that it’s the same T-Rex, he responded, “I hope so. Yeah. I mean, we took the original design and obviously, technology has changed. So, it’s going to move a little bit differently, but it’ll move differently because it’s older. And we’re giving her some scars and we’re tightening her skin. So, she has that feeling of, like, an older Burt Lancaster. And this movie is her Unforgiven.”
What role will the T-Rex have in the film? A fight? A bite? Or will she just show and go. At this point, it could be anything, but I have a feeling that her role or scenes in the film will be pretty big! Speaking of “big scenes,” Colin Trevorrow also revealed that the Ankylosaurus will have a big scene in the film and said that there will be big appearances in the film and some that are small. “There’s an Ankylosaurus in this movie; was a really big scene and that’s just a bad ass dinosaur. And there are others. There’s smaller appearances, some bigger appearances.” He then elaborated and gave us a brief headcount of some of the dinosaurs in the film. “You know, we have an underwater reptile. I’m sure you’ve heard about that. That thing is pretty cool. We have a new kind of flying dinosaur that no one’s ever seen before, you know, in addition to the Pteranodons that are really scary. And I didn’t want to just throw the kitchen sink at it. Each of these movies has done a good job at just very carefully, in a measured way, increasing the new dinosaurs that you see. But, there’s a lot of dinosaurs in the movie for sure.”
I’m sure this will come across as great news for the many fans of the franchise. The original T-rex will return and hopefully she’ll make her presence felt! A scene will the Indominus Rex maybe? Whatever the case is, I’m sure the T-rex will bring some great action to Jurassic World! What thing would you want to see the T-rex do in the film?
