First Look At Mads Mikklesen As Galen Erso In ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY

We're still not sure if we're getting that new trailer today, but the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story SWC panel just debuted the first image of Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen as Jyn Erso's father, Galen...

Following the awesome poster and Celebration Reel, we have this first look at Mads Mikkelsen's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story character, and, yes, he will indeed be playing the father of Felicity Jones' Jyn Erso. The actor wouldn't reveal too much more about Galen, but rumor has it he will have direct ties to the Empire, and may even have had a hand in building the Death Star.

You can also check out some early concept art of our heroes, and as you can see they originally looked a lot different.

He looks BOSS!

I guess we got fooled for the trailer though... Maybe they showed us the 3-minute Sizzle Reel for a 3rd time for us as a background, while they showed the brand-new 3-minute trailer to the audience? Otherwise, Kathleen wouldn't be so insistive of people switching off their phones.

Although I'm disappointed in the lack of a new trailer, the Rogue One panel was awesome! And the featurette was really cool, despite my getting sick of seeing it during the live-stream haha

If anyone didn't know already, tonight (Friday 8pmEST) ABC is airing 'Secrets of the Force Awakens,' an hour-long behind-the-scenes making of the movie and the commercials are promising a big surprise. I've been assuming that THIS is where and when the new'Rogue One' trailer will debut, but I could be wrong.

@MarkV

Every other Star Wars movie before Force Awakens starred men, so are we to deduce, using your stalwart logic, that they were pushing a patriarchal, pro-men agenda?

See how stupid you sound.

@PsychoticSpaceRaccoon - Yes, they were pushing a heroic male ideal, kind of the corner stone of western civilization. MEN fought in the trenches of WW1, MEN created the western world.

But in reality the family, and modern civilization is really the product of women, we are their children. Their love and kindness has engendered us to create a world where women are elevated and respected and civility and chivalry prosper.

And the heroes are by and large MEN. We are the cannon fodder that sacrifice ourselves so their vision can take fruit.

Also we like dumb stuff like space movies, and we tend to be the target audience because men are unsophisticated and easily amused.

If that sounds stupid then so be it. Enjoy your post stupid world.
