While it has been widely expected/speculated, the protagonist trio of the original Star Wars trilogy - Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) - have yet to officially sign on to return for Disney/Lucasfilm's Episode VII, which will be directed by J.J. Abrams. Seemingly premature reports stated that Ford was already signed on, but Hamill more recently confirmed otherwise despite discussions taking place. Speaking with WGN TV while promoting 42, Ford is asked about returning to the iconic role of Han Solo. He reiterates that he isn't officially signed on yet, but he seems pretty sure that negotiations will turn out well. "I think it's almost true. I'm looking forward to it. It's not in the bag yet, but I think it's going to happen."

Michael Ardnt (Toy Story 3) is working on the script for Disney, Lucasfilm and J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII, which is targeting a 2015 release.
