Harrison Ford Talks BLADE RUNNER 2; Responds To The "Who Shot First" STAR WARS Question

During a Reddit AMA, the notoriously prickly actor was asked a few inevitable Star Wars related questions, and was also quizzed about his rumored involvement in Ridley Scott's planned sequel to his sci-fi classic, Blade Runner.

By all accounts, Harrison Ford and Ridley Scott didn't get on very well while shooting Blade Runner, but that doesn't seem to have bothered the director too much, as he recently stated that he'd love to get Ford back to do the planned follow up to the sci-fi masterpiece. For his part, Ford has also expressed admiration for Scott's talent, and has sounded positive about a possible reprisal of the role of replicant hunter (and possible replicant himself) Rick Deckard. But now he's been even more forthcoming during a Reddit "ask me anything" session. "I'm quite curious and excited about seeing a new script for Blade Runner if in fact the opportunity would exist to do another, if it's a good script I would be very anxious to work with Ridley Scott again, he's a very talented and passionate filmmaker. And I think it would be very interesting to revisit the character" Sounds as if this will actually happen...as long as he likes that script of course. Ford was also asked "who shot first? Han Solo or Greedo?", and responded in typical fashion -- "I don't know and I don't care". [Ror's insert: It was Han]. You can read the full AMA at the link below.

My father raised me on sci-fi, and blade runner was one of those films we watched many a time. So I'd be interested in a blade runner 2.

Blade Runner does not need a sequel.

I just love his response to who shot first lol. He's pretty much had it with fanboys asking him questions about that. He probably rolled his eyes while giving both fingers to the screen lol.

In my fan fiction, Han and Greedo both said their favorite Care Bear at the same time and both gave the same answer. Then they giggled.

Then they made out.

@ MexicanSuperman

The whole dispute is over whether or not Han fired first in the original film.

That scene was changed to make it look like Greedo fired first, because apparently people thought it made Han's character inconsistent to make him fire first.

So yeah, the blu-ray, and many other releases have a different scene.

Thats what the whole point of the "Who fired first" thing is about.

@ Reefer

it isn't about how badass Han is. Its about his character. People questioned if Han would have fired first, considering how his character is portrayed in teh rest of the series. Some people don't think it fits because he turns out to be such a hero.

My take on it, is yeah, before he met Luke and Leia and everyone, he damn sure would have fired first. But after meeting them, he clearly went through a transformation throughout the rest of the series. In my opinion, if that scene had taken place at the end of Return of Jedi, then no, he would not have fired first.

No, not Blade Runner 2 please, in this era of crappy screenplays Scott would make a mess like Prometheus or worse.

Han straight up shot him we all know that. Lucas went crazy making his rereleases in 1997.

He should care, because Han shooting first makes him look like a badass, and Greedo shooting first makes him look like a pussy.

I would love to see a sequel or maybe even a prequel to Blade Runner, but not with Ford as the lead. I also think it's time to reboot Indiana Jones without Ford. Sorry, but he's too old for action movies and his acting has become a bit stale over the years.

It sucks how many good movies get unneccessary reboots. CBMs are different because look at actual comics, look how many rebooted story lines we have. Movies like the godfather for example should he left alone but who knows when that'll come next.
