HOME SWEET HOME ALONE Star Ally Maki Reveals Her Dream Role In Future STAR WARS Movie Or TV Show (Exclusive)

Ally Maki is no stranger to genre fare after starring in Cloak & Dagger and the upcoming Hit-Monkey, but the Home Sweet Home Alone star has now made it clear she's hoping to head to a Galaxy Far, Far Away!

Home Sweet Home Alone hits Disney+ tomorrow, and this fun family flick is definitely worth taking the time to check out if you're a fan of the franchise. We'll be sharing our interviews with director Dan Mazer and the movie's cast soon, but in the meantime, we have some very interesting comments from star Ally Maki.

During the global press conference for the movie, Maki mentioned in passing that she'd love to head to a Galaxy Far, Far Away to be part of a future Star Wars movie or TV show.

When we were able to chat with the actress, we had to ask what role she imagines taking on. A Jedi, perhaps? How about a Sith? Nope. Instead, Maki hopes to don that iconic white uniform as a Stormtrooper! "It’s so hard. I mean, I really loved the Stormtroopers for some reason," she pondered. "I feel like that would be so random [Laughs]"

"I could be part of the Stormtrooper squad, but maybe a good one in the way Finn was. Yeah, I don’t know, maybe a cool Stormtrooper," Maki continued. "That would be cool to see. A cool woman Stormtrooper character…"

Thanks to the Star Wars sequels, we know that there are women beneath those helmets, and after the recent movies so quickly moved away from Finn's time serving the First Order, we'd love to revisit that idea elsewhere. A female Stormtrooper would be particularly cool, and we know the Empire was also home to some badass women (Iden Versio, for example).

Needless to say, we're keeping our fingers crossed for Maki. Watch the full interview below:

Not really what I expected, but that's an interesting take. Quite modest too

Doctor Aphra is the obvious choice.

The Battlefront Twilight Company book had a female stormtrooper POV character. She was stationed in her own planet, genuinely thought the Empire was doing good, and she liked the job. The book itself is meh, but her POV explored some very interesting ideas about being a stormtrooper and how that affects your relationships in an increasingly oppressed city with a Rebel cell in it.

Lost Stars also does something similar, but with Tie-pilots. The Empire brings technology and connects an Outer Rim world, where our protagonists live, to the Empire so they decide to give back and join the cause as pilots.
The female protagonist is a prodigy, get's set-up in the Core Worlds of the galaxy & has a jolly old time serving the Empire and then getting a Death Star job (it does a decent job of showing how Luke killing thousands of normal workers stationed there affects the stormtroopers).
It's a very unbalanced book, with the writer focusing too much on the boring male POV (he's a run of the mill rebel), but it's another decent example of showing the Empire POV through a foot soldier that actually likes the cause.

@Waddles - It's the best part of the book and it seemed to be going to that dichotomy you mentioned, but it just doesn't linger enough to explore it. It's mostly in the book to show you what's the situation there so when the titular Twilight Company is sent to take the Imperial outpost you're already familiar with the place.

"That would be cool to see. A cool woman Stormtrooper character…" But did she not see the awesome toys and posters and buildup to the awesome Captain Phasma?! Oh wait she probably saw the film and realised just how completely useless and minuscule the character was. 😂 Poor Gwendoline Christie was doing so much press for that background character.
