36-year-old actor, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, has been rumored to be in the mix for a part in the much anticipated film, Star Wars: Episode VII. Which role he was supposedly up for, was never revealed. Now, Entertainment Weekly has caught up with the Irish actor and asked him about those pesky Star Wars rumors.

brushes off the reports, telling EW that, for the moment at least, the Star Wars speculation is just that. “Look, I’ve worked with J.J.,” says Rhys Meyers, who co-starred in Abrams’ Mission: Impossible III in 2006. “But I don’t believe rumors.”

You can next see the actor, Oct. 25, when NBC' Dracula makes its premiere.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being in SW VII, honestly... he looks like he could easily be part of the cast in a number of roles... (sith, jedi, imperial soldier, smuggler friend of solo's, even maybe Solo's kid!)

Bite it, nerds!

Everyone rumored to be in ep7 should get the blue face Thrawn treatment. Especially the Big 3, Chewie, and the droids.

He was a good bad guy in Mortal Instruments, if he gets castes that would be dope to see him as a Sith Lord.

Outstanding television! I still can't believe that there are only two episodes left!

As for anything El Mayimbe excretes, we should know by now what to expect from such a source.

@TheAstoundingMan & Levitikus,
Please show me a percentage of false rumors you chastise Latino Review about. From my recollection, they have a pretty good track record. I'd rather listen to rumors, key word 'rumors, from a source that is 75% correct that not hear them at all. I think Latino Review are definitely batting at least .750. They've provided tons more rumors that turned out to be true than other sources on this site.

And for the record, even if Latino Review had a horrible track record, I'd much rather see their rumors than put up with 5 editorials a day that we are now getting here.

Always thought he would make a good Lex if they were casting young, ironically it's because of his performance alongside Henry Cavill in The Tudors.

His career has slightly gone off the rails lately due to personal problems but still think he would be a good choice, plus him and Cavill have chemistry.
