2015 is an extremely busy year for movies, with high profile releases like The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Batman/Superman the highlights of an extremely busy summer. So, where does Star Wars: Episode VII fit into those crowded few month at the box office? Well, according to Badass Digest, it doesn't! Instead, the studio behind the J.J. Abrams helmed movie is planning on releasing the movie closer to Christmas. "Multiple sources have told me that right now Disney and Lucasfilm have December circled on their calendars, with a mid-month release - the 15th - being most likely. That would take Star Wars out of the crowded summer and, more importantly, give JJ Abrams and company a couple more months to work on a movie that's already running a tighter schedule than most of the other Star Wars films." They go on to speculate that the movie could be pushed even closer to the holiday season if Abrams needs the time, but we'll just have to wait and see! What do you guys think of this possible date?

NO!!!

May. Star Wars films have a tradition of releasing in May. [frick] Avengers 2. Move them to June or July but have Star Wars in May.

I feel like George Costanza. You're killing me Abrams. KILLING ME.

I can understand them going this route, but it certainly a break from tradition.

All 6 of the Star Wars films have released in May. Personally, I don't think they should give up on that just because of other summer movies...

I like the may date..but my birthday is May 20th so it's always been a tradition with each release to see Star Wars on my birthday. Now I'll just have to see if for Christmas!

cant wait for 2015? its December of 2015, its practically 2016 now without it literally being that. They made a promise to get it out in 2015, but of course theyre now busting their balls to get it out in time, so theyre like "how about the very end of 2015?? we arent technically breaking that promise!" whatever.

I prefer it to be released in the summer but December is cool too...

Sounds good to me, summer 2015 seems a bit crowded anyway. Just so long as it has a good story, they can put it wherever they want.

Disney will not put their two big tentpoles against each other dummies.

Avengers: Age of Ultron will rule them all of course.

We are in the golden age of comic book movies. The next two years will be amazing.

A smart move, if true. There's just WAAAAAAY too much crap scheduled for summer of that year-- if they want to make an impression, they need to release over the holidays, where there probably won't be as much competition.

Plus, it'd be good for all the other summer movies coming out that year if they didn't have to be released under the shadow of f%$#in' Star Wars VII.

This is GREAT news, means you'll get a better quality picture instead of being rushed. And you still have something great to look forward to later in the year after an exhausting summer.
