It's been a long time coming, but the first trailer for Star Wars Episode IX is here and it's just in time to play in front of Avengers: Endgame two weeks from now too.

Anyway, let's get to the good stuff (if you want to watch the trailer without being spoiled, stop reading now and scroll down). Still here? Well, it does indeed appear as if The Emperor survived the events of Return of the Jedi and Ian McDiarmid took to the stage at Star Wars Celebration to confirm that the classic villain has returned.

What does "The Rise of Skywalker" refer to? Well, it would be a little daft for Rey's parentage to be changed at this late stage so perhaps Ben Solo will rebel against The Emperor and take on the mantle of Ben Skywalker. We'll just have to wait and see, but it's safe to say no one saw this twist coming.

We'll have more on the trailer for you later. but for now check it out in the player below!
