STAR WARS Fans Believe Daisy Ridley May Be Teasing Her Return As Rey Skywalker In Upcoming Project

With Lucasfilm finally starting to put together a slate of Star Wars movies, could Daisy Ridley be gearing up for a return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away as Rey Skywalker? Find more details on that here...

Even three years on since the Skywalker Saga ended, the Star Wars sequels remain extremely divisive among fans of the franchise, with key creative decisions made by both J.J. Abrams and Rian Johnson leaving a bad taste in the mouths of many.

Among them was how Rey's story played out, with the revelation that she's Emperor Palpatine's granddaughter (or, uh, the daughter of one of his failed clones) not quite landing the way Lucasfilm probably hoped. The Rise of Skywalker concluded with the Jedi declaring herself "Rey Skywalker," a moment that's been praised and ridiculed in equal measure.

Despite that, Star Wars fans remain keen to see Rey's story continue, particularly if it means actress Daisy Ridley can find some measure of redemption for the poor decisions often made with her character.

The internet is now all abuzz about a possible return following a social media post from the actress suggesting she's paid a visit to Lucasfilm's headquarters. Ridley would later share an update (via SFFGazette.com) saying she was there for lunch and that "nothing saucy [was] happening," though we do wonder if that was just an attempt to put an end to any speculation!

Recently, we've heard that one of the many upcoming Star Wars movies might be set after The Rise of Skywalker, so perhaps there are plans to finally revisit some of the sequel trilogy characters? It would be great to see what happened next to Rey after becoming one of the Galaxy's most powerful Jedi Knights, and a new creative team could make up for past mistakes.

On the other hand, it's always possible Ridley was just at Lucasfilm for a simple lunch just as she claimed, so we'll have to wait and see on this one. Given how often the studio's big screen plans often fall apart, we probably shouldn't get our hopes up, regardless.

As always, keep checking SFFGazette.com for the latest Star Wars updates.

Sure have Super Rey come back. I would love to see more of the story of how Emperor Palpatine and the Sith ultimately won.

As long as they never mention Rey’s parentage ever again, I’m good with it.

I will tell my grandkids never to watch episode 9. Ever.

Some might say the same about episode 8, but I think Favreau and Filoni and co. will give us more of the Luke Skywalker we always wanted to see and ease the heartbreak some fans felt about that movie.

@NoAssemblyReqd - I would dare to say that Rian Johnson accidentally ended the Skywalker saga one movie too early, as the final moments pretty much established that Luke and the Resistance had succeeded in reigniting hope in the Galaxy.

@NoAssemblyReqd - he sure did, this is what happens when you hire someone who doesn't give a [frick] about the legacy, or is even a fan!

I'm still waiting for someone to convince that that's something that would've happened at all.

I am extremely excited about this and vehemently opposed to it in equal measure.

Hopefully it's in a book, without an audiobook alternative. And they don't publish it, ever.

It was probably just launch, but I wouldn't mind seeing her as Rey again. I actually like the character (and yes, even that she's a Palpatine)

They’re going to figure out a way to merge the Mando/Ahsoka/Ezra stuff with the post sequel trilogy stuff. Mark my words.

@Gmoney84 - As long as it involves the time travel that Ezra discovered, so we can reboot this shit and go home.

I said it before, I'll say it again: I still like Rey a lot, and if there's a story that involves her and Grogu using time travel to erase the nightmare that's the sequel trilogy I'll be there to watch it.

They should just reboot the sequel trilogy
