STAR WARS JEDI: FALLEN ORDER 2 Gets A Suitably Foreboding Title As Rumors Swirl About Release Plans

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was a hit among fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away, and a new rumour not only claims to reveal the sequel's title, but may also shed some light on when we'll be playing it...

Fans remain optimistic that Lucasfilm Games will finally pull back the curtain on the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel at this year's Star Wars Celebration, but some new details have now been revealed courtesy of insider Jeff Grubb. According to the prolific leaker and reporter, the game will be titled Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, a fitting moniker given how the first chapter of this story ended.

There have been rumblings for a while that the plan was to ditch "Fallen Order" and just go with Star Wars Jedi as the main name of this franchise. That sounds about right, and we're intrigued to see Cal Kestis' story continue, especially as it appears he will create his own Jedi Academy prior to A New Hope.

Grubb has a somewhat hit-and-miss track record, but did recently claim that the Dead Space remake would arrive early next year, only for EA to confirm just moments ago that it's coming on January 27, 2023.

As for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, he claims that the sequel will likely debut in 2023, though it's possible it could be here in time for Christmas (we're not banking on that). Grubb has also revealed that, like Gotham Knights, it will only be available on next-gen consoles and PC. This is bound to upset some gamers, especially when the PlayStation 5, for example, remains hard to come by.

Hopefully, we'll have more details to share with you soon. Star Wars Celebration takes place later this month, and it would be very odd for the follow-up to not be a focal point of the event in some way.

What do you think about this title for the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sequel?

Off-topic: I’ve got nowhere else to post it before I have to get back to work, but Rest In Peace, Fred Ward. That scowl of his always made me smile. Tremors forever!

@MosquitoFarmer - so sad. Huge fan of his since I first saw Remo Williams as a kid. Sucks we never got a movie with him and Jon playing father and son.

Damn them for taking this away from ps4. They better not pull that s#@t with God of War: Ragnarök.

@Odin - Removing games from cross-gen is a good thing. Developers can't reach their potential on the new tech if they are also making sure their games run on last gen consoles. If they keep making everything cross-gen then it will be years to come before we start seeing truly next (current) gen games.

And anyone saying they can't find a PS5 is simply not trying.

@WaffeX - it sounded fake, it's been stated by gunn that bug cannot be used, i hope he stays away from beta Ray Bill, if Melchior is in it she fits the moondragon look

@Dannywest - yes, he said it a few years ago, I think Bug is owned by Hasbro, he said Bug was in the script by Nicole Perlman and he was killed off

@WaffeX - You sure about Bug? He was originally from the Micronauts and Marvel lost the rights to them like it lost it's rights to ROM, the Space Knight.

@johnjacob - now I googled it:

James Gun: "Marvel is not allowed to use Bug in films. I have tried to use him in all three movies, and was not able."

"He was in the draft before mine and got killed by Drax in the prison after two seconds."

I honestly preferred the Jedi Knight games and The Force Unleashed to Fallen Order.

@Nightwing1015 - Its hard to compare them. They are very different games. Fallen Order is a Souls-like game. Those others were just action games.

Nightwing1015 - 5/13/2022, 9:18 PM
@CorndogBurglar - They are both third person story games where you play as a jedi against the empire and other enemies while wielding lightsabers and force powers. They are similar enough in concept for me to compare them.

@Nightwing1015 - I disagree. They’re very different games. They’re also set during different time periods. Both are good.

@globaltravels - TFU and Fallen Order are the same time period at least. However, I didn't like TFU2 as much as I tried to.

I’m fairly sure the name was Star Wars - Jedi: Fallen Order. Not Star Wars Jedi - Fallen Order.

@globaltravels - maybe Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order? Thought Star Wars Jedi was the franchise name in this case

Was kinda hoping for Fallen Empire, but I guess that wouldn't have made a lot of sense.

As for the game itself, I really hope we get an appearance from Maul, Ahsoka or Kenobi. I know the galaxy is massive, but I do think appearances from them can make sense story-wise

"Especially as it appears he will create his own Jedi Academy prior to A New Hope"

Uh... how so? Wasn't there literally a scene in the game showcasing how establishing a Jedi academy before defeating the Empire was a bad idea?
