There's still no indication Cameron Monaghan will get to play Cal Kestis in a live-action project, but a new listing seems to suggest the character's story will continue in a third Star Wars Jedi game...

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor received a positive response from gamers and reviewers when it was released earlier this year. Much of that praise was heaped on its compelling narrative, with Cal Kestis' story widely hailed as one of the best stories told during the current Disney-owned Lucasfilm era.

Played by Cameron Monaghan, we follow the character's attempts to find a permanent escape from the Empire in the sequel and is betrayed by one of his closest allies along the way. As a result, we see Cal tempted by the Dark Side, with players actually given the chance to tap into that in order to lay waste to enemies during the game's final act.

The hope is that a third instalment will continue following the Jedi's battle with his darker impulses, and we now have a very good indication that a threequel is indeed in the works from EA.

A post on LinkedIn (via GameFragger.com) reveals that the company is looking to hire a, "highly skilled Principal Game Writer who will embrace our philosophy and share their hard-earned expertise to help us create an incredible Star Wars experience for our players in a fun, third-person action-adventure setting."

That sounds an awful lot like a new instalment of this Star Wars Jedi series and lines up with what the franchise's director previously said about the plan being to tell this story across a trilogy of games.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was a hit, anyway, so we'll hopefully have more details to share with you soon.

Picking up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen OrderJedi: Survivor is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games.

No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight.

Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous. The Dark Times are closing in - with enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.

Despite its technical issue I [frick]ing loved this game. This one really built on the Zelda/Uncharted/Dark Souls inspirations and felt like it really nailed each aspect that it touched on with Fallen Order. Can’t wait for the next one although much like this one (and what I should have done with Fallen Order) I’ll be waiting a month or so for the inevitable big launch patches

@Ha1frican - I really do feel like this engine could be the basis behind the next mass effect game. It handles open world well. And the teammate aspect reminded me of mass effect (except here you can't control them)

I’m almost done playing Jedi Surviver. It’s a great game and I hope they can connect it somewhere down the line in the next one with what’s going on in the Mandalorian so we can get a live action Cal Kestis.

I hope it leads into the creation of the Rebel Alliance. You know, since Andor isn't going to do it.

Technical issues aside, Jedi Survivor is a masterpiece. I can't wait for the next one !
