STAR WARS: Rey Movie Rumored To Include The Force Ghosts Of Two Beloved Characters - Possible SPOILERS

The upcoming Star Wars movie revolving around Daisy Ridley's Rey will reportedly feature appearances from two familiar fallen Jedi, but which Force Ghosts should you expect to see? You can find out here...

At Star Wars Celebration in early April, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced three new Star Wars movies. There was no mention of the other projects promised by the studio in recent years (Rogue Squadron, for example), but those said to be on the horizon are undeniably exciting.

The first will see James Mangold tell the story of the first Jedi thousands of years in the past. Another, this time from Dave Filoni, takes place in the same timeline as The Mandalorian for a crossover event which is expected to put Grand Admiral Thrawn front and centre. Finally, we're also heading back to the sequel trilogy for a story set 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker

Ms. Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be at the helm, while Daisy Ridley is set to reprise her role as Rey, a Jedi Master looking to create a new Jedi Order while attempting to combat the dark forces that rise up to stop her.

Giant Freakin Robot (via SFFGazette.com) recently shared some details about the movie, and while the site is an admittedly questionable source, they were the first to share the news about Ridley's Star Wars return!

As a result, we can't entirely dismiss this latest report which claims both Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen will appear as Force Ghosts in the untitled movie. They'll obviously reprise their respective roles as Luke and Anakin Skywalker, and this makes sense on a number of levels.

For starters, Luke became Rey's unwilling mentor in the sequel trilogy, while plans for Christensen to play Anakin's Force Ghost were first considered for The Force Awakens. He'd have been shown as part-Anakin, part-Darth Vader, with the idea being to portray him as still being conflicted between the Light and Dark Sides even after his redemption and subsequent death.

Revisiting that concept would be fun, but the biggest draw has to be seeing Luke and Anakin's spirits potentially share the screen as father and son dispensing advice to the woman hoping to restore the Jedi Order.

This is just a rumour for now, but we'll be sure to keep you updated over on SFFGazette.com as we learn more.

Nope. We will get nothing new or original here.

As the mouse house continues to crap all over the greatness that Star Wars once was.

It’s a travesty that Luke and Anakin haven’t shared a scene yet. They need to make this happen.

Actually a few scenes. Luke helps Vader remive the mask and Anakin appears. The Luke burns Anakin's body in a somber moment as Ewoks shoot off fireworks. Then Luke is visited by Anakin's force ghost

Force ghosts always seemed like a joke to me.

This movie is going to be so packed with member berries and cameos so they can get people interested in it.

This movie will never get made.

If it does, it will truly be the finale nail in the Star Wars coffin.

"He'd have been shown as part-Anakin, part-Darth Vader, with the idea being to portray him as still being conflicted between the Light and Dark Sides even after his redemption and subsequent death."

This makes no sense on 2 levels. First, we already saw Anakin's force ghost in Return of the Jedi and he looked like Anakin, not a cross between Anakin and Vader. And that took place long before this stupid movie would.

Second, you have to be committed to the light side to become a force ghost. Someone that is conflicted between the light and dark would likely not be able to become a force ghost.

@CorndogBurglar - Bruh if these rumors are true this is just further proof that these hacks don’t understand Star Wars. They’ve already ruined Luke and somewhat removed the chosen one moniker for Anakin by brining back Palpatine, and now they’re gonna ruin Anakin even further 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

I'm excited but I really hope these execs learned their lesson this time to plan out a trilogies worth of movies for each of these perspective stories.

Anakin and Luke have to be in this in my opinion. Can't have a new Jedi Order without those who brought it down and already build it up once before. Having Ben in there would also be nice

I love what they've been doing to Star Wars. It's such a shit franchise with an even shittier fandom. It deserves all that's coming for it.

The idea of a split Anakin/Vader Force Ghost is one of those ideas that's all style, no substance, meaning it'd probably look cool but it's incredibly dumb - Anakin was redeemed as the end of Return of the Jedi, and we saw his Force Ghost at the end of that movie looking just like him (whether that's the original, older version played by Sebastian Shaw, or the younger Hayden Christensen version from Lucas' various revised versions)

A Force Ghost can't exist in conflict, it's a manifestation of that person's fullest, most realised self within The Force. So yeah, Split Ghost Anakin is a stupid idea that would shit on the OT more than anything the Sequels did, and it's a good thing that never happened and it should never be revisited.

Now, Luke and NORMAL Anakin appearing as Ghosts? That could work. It'd be interesting to see them interact as an older Luke and a non-cyborg Anakin, and personally I think Hayden's recent work in Obi-Wan Kenobi (as I'm assuming will also be the case in Ahsoka) sold me on him as Anakin way more than the Prequels ever did; feels like him getting a second chance with the character is allowing him to play the role with a lot more confidence.

What do you think Force Ghosts do all day when they're not popping in on other Jedi? Like, do they hang out together and play cards, listing to old jizz records?
