THE PHANTOM MENACE Star Jake Lloyd Arrested After Pod Race Car Chase
Jake Lloyd, who played young Anakin Skywalker in 1999's embarrassment Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, was arrested recently, opening the door for many pod racing jokes. Check out the full story after the jump.
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace was awful. Nuff said. One of its stars, Jake Lloyd, who infamously played the young Anakin Skywalker in the prequel, was recently arrested, according to TMZ. The reason for his arrest? Well, apparently an intense car chase through Charleston, South Carolina landed him right in jail. Cops say that the now 26-year-old was ordered to stop when he began passing cars on the double yellow line while recklessly driving at high speeds. When he refused, a chase ensued for miles, until he eventually lost control of the vehicle and he crashed into a tree. He was arrested for "reckless driving, failure to stop, driving without a license, and resisting arrest." Lloyd is now in custody.
