I have come up with 5 reasons as to how the Empire never would have succeeded.
1: The Death Star had a HUGE gap that led to a hole that could blow the whole thing up.
I mean really, the huge unbeatable weapon is destroyed by a simple X-wing fighter. I mean, who approved the plans, who skipped over the obvious mistake, WHO WAS THE GUY THAT DESIGNED THIS THING!?!? WHO!!!!
2: Death Star II didn't have the hole, but it DID have a trench that led to the main reactor bay, which, if shot at, could destroy the whole thing.
Well they fixed the hole. Of course, there was a more obvious flaw which caused the untimely death of hundreds more than the last incident.
3: They didn't go looking for Obi-Wan Kenobi or Yoda
Darth Vader knew he was still alive. The Emperor knew that Yoda escaped. Now why didn't they go looking?
Why didn't The Empire send out wave after wave of Stormtroopers to explore planets, looking for the Jedi? Was it to long, and to hard? They tracked down lots of Jedi in the Force Unleashed, why is Obi Wan so hard to find?
4: Darth Vader hated his master.
He really does hate him. Really. The entire Original Trilogy he was plotting to kill him. The Force Unleashed showed us how much he really wanted to kill him. Of course he was waiting for the right moment. You can't walk up to one of the most powerful Force-Users and Try to kill him. You can't.
5: They shut down the droids.
Lets face it. If the Empire had two endless armies, they would have won the war. But they had one army, so they lost. It is as simple as that. Droids and men would have come out on top, if the Emperor hadn't shut down the Trade Federation, destroyed the droids and kill the Seperatist leaders, things might have turned out different.
Those are my reasons for why the Empire never stood a chance.
Question of the Article: Who do you think approved the plans and skipped over that detail involving a hole?
