TERMINATOR: DARK FATE - Check Out Some New Footage In An Action-Packed SDCC Featurette

"I hunt Terminators... you metal mother[frick]er."

There was no new Terminator: Dark Fate trailer after today's Reddit AMA panel with the cast, but Paramount did debut a new BTS featurette which contains quite a bit of new footage from Tim Miller's sci-fi sequel.

Producer James Cameron makes it very clear that this is going to be an R-rated film, but even if he hadn't confirmed it, the video is full of F-bombs. Miller is clearly very excited to be directing a Terminator movie!

We also see snippets of Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) in action alongside "Carl" (Arnold Schwarzenegger), as well as new cast members Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, and Gabriel Luna as the formidable-looking REV 9.

"Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (T-800) return in their iconic roles in Terminator: Dark Fate, directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and produced by visionary filmmaker James Cameron and David Ellison. Following the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Dark Fate also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta."

Terminator: Dark Fate hits theaters this November.

@Gjedi - I agree. The 1st trailer was horrible, but lately, bad trailers have lead to actually good films. Fingers crossed.

With Cameron on board and a big middle finger to everything after T2....I'll give it a shot.

@GreypilgrimXXX - Him endorsing Genisys doesn't give me much faith

OK, now I'm kinda worried this is gonna suffer from the Hellboy syndrome of "Hey guys, we're rated R! So let's say [frick] just for the sake of saying [frick] even when the scene doesn't really call for it! Because [frick] it, why not? [frick]!"

@MUTO123 - It's funny, because if you released the original Terminator duology today they'd both be PG13.

Looks cool to me... might be fun to dust off the first two before seeing this...

They keep saying Arnold's playing t 800, but that can't be right. The t 800 was destroyed, and the other movies are now non canon, so it can't be pops. Plus from the looks of his introduction here this t 800 has been just camping out. Is he playing the guy the t 800 was modelled after and they don't want to reveal his name yet?
GreypilgrimXXX
GreypilgrimXXX - 7/18/2019, 7:48 PM
@Origame - Cant be one shot shows him with some Cyborg damage. I am willing to be that they are going to say that he was not really destroyed in T2 but just did so that he could silently watch over John over the years.
Origame
Origame - 7/19/2019, 1:43 AM
@GreypilgrimXXX - 1) we only see him with a sleeve for effects to be added later. That could be a metal arm, or he could just lose his human arm in the movie.

2) but the t 800 being destroyed is the whole point to ending judgement day. In fact this film is supposed to center around a new apocalypse with someone new acting as the last hope for mankind. Plus, they would need to explain how a machine got old, which can only be done by using the genisys explanation, and we can't give that movie any credit.

@Origame - At 12 secs you can see they have something on his face where effects can be added in later to show the cyborg skeleton underneath. With this film taking place so many years later I would stand by either Arnolds Terminator survived or a different one came back that can age.

I’m still apprehensive about this. People are making a huge deal about James Cameron’s involvement in the film, and I’m reminded of those Terminator Genisys featurettes where they interviewed Cameron, before the movie came out, and he was heaping praise on the film. And then I think back to a similar interview he gave for Alien vs Predator. He said that movie was a masterpiece.

Yea... they should’ve never released that teaser. This should’ve been the first thing we saw from this. THIS looks promising.

Damn, now that's how you rebound from a shit teaser. I wasn't going to make plans to see this film, but now I'm sorta stoked. I heard Eddie furlong was in it too lol.

@JohnnyStorm - I was at the panel today. He is in it for like 10 mins...he dies pretty early in the flim. The mexican chick is the new "John Conner" and the hope of mankind...that's where the flim is headed. The mexican chick turns out to be John's daughter.

@jst5 - John Connor

JohnnyStorm - 7/18/2019, 5:21 PM
@jst5 - holy shit lol. I hope this film makes up for all the other garbage Terminator films we've got. So the Mexican chick is Furlongs daughter in the movie?
jst5
jst5 - 7/18/2019, 5:27 PM
@JohnnyStorm - Yep....it's Terminator's version of Rey.
JohnnyStorm
JohnnyStorm - 7/18/2019, 5:29 PM
@jst5 - Nice. From what you gathered at the panel, does this film even acknowledge the other shitty movies?
jst5
jst5 - 7/18/2019, 5:38 PM
@JohnnyStorm - No...it's a direct sequel from T2 and shows the effects of what happens after Sarah destoryed Skynet. There is no Skynet anymone...the new "Skynet" is called Legion.
JohnnyStorm
JohnnyStorm - 7/18/2019, 5:51 PM
@jst5 - hell yeah man. Sounds like it'll be dope. You going to be at the hall h panel for MCU Saturday?
Curlyhairfro
Curlyhairfro - 7/18/2019, 5:52 PM
@jst5 - they said all that today? Seems weird to give away the entire plot.
JohnnyStorm
JohnnyStorm - 7/18/2019, 7:30 PM
@Curlyhairfro - all he said was that it's a direct sequel, the Mexican chick is John's daughter, and that skynet is now legion. I doubt that's the entire plot of the film sir.
Timerider84
Timerider84 - 7/19/2019, 10:16 AM
@JohnnyStorm - so I guess after John sent Kyle back to 1984, he sends two uncle Bob T800's, one to 1995, the other to Mexico or southern California then he sends himself in order to father Dani Ramos. But how? he gets killed at the beginning of the film, so confusing.
JohnnyStorm
JohnnyStorm - 7/19/2019, 11:03 AM
@Timerider84 - confusing? Absolutely. Still going to be the proper Terminator sequel to follow T2, that we should have got long ago? Sounds like it, I certainly hope so. Stoked for it? Damn right sir.

It looks like Arnold is playing the same character. They even have His left arm CGd.
