SHAZAM! Star Zachary Levi Is Excited For The Rock To Suit Up As Black Adam So He Can "Kick [His] Ass"

We don't know when exactly Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will finally suit up as Black Adam but Shazam! star Zachary Levi is excited to see that become a reality for one very good reason. Check it out...

While Henry Cavill's Superman is no longer set to appear in Shazam! following the actor's departure from the DC Extended Universe, fans are still hoping for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's Black Adam to make an appearance. Unfortunately, that seems highly unlikely but Zachary Levi has now revealed that he's excited to see the character brought to the big screen...so the two of them can square off!

"I don’t know when they’re going to make that standalone live-action movie but I know that’s the plan," Levi explained during a recent appearance at the Baltimore Comic-Con. "I hope that eventually Shazam and Black Adam get to fight each other because I’d like to kick The Rock’s ass. Because that’s what would happen, right?" It would certainly be an interesting clash but when could it happen?

Chances are Black Adam would get his own solo outing before the two characters are paired up or pitted against each other and seeing as The Rock has been talking about playing the DC Comics anti-hero for years now, we still don't know when and if it will ever become a reality. As for that Cavill cameo, Levi was coy with his response but admitted that any decisions are "way above my pay grade."

I'm not someone who has been super critical of the padded suit, because my view of Cpt. Marvel is that he's basically Billy Batson's ideal of a superhero. And if that's a little cartoony, that's fine.

But if you put this padded-up mother[frick]er next to the Rock wearing a costume of the same basic type and construction... it's probably going to make him look a lot shittier...

On the other hand, we're probably talking four or five more years before Rock ever suits up, so Zachary Levi's got time to juice up.

@Spock0Clock - Is Shazam being Billy’s idea of superhero a real thing? I can’t remember that from any comics. What if his idea of a hero was a giant robot? Or just a fireman? In this version Billy seems to be a lost boy with an attitude and thinks superheroes are lame. I don’t see the connection between bright and shiny Cap (Shaz?) and his ideal hero.

@Spock0Clock - You used the bad words "shit" and "[frick]", and didn't use something like "superannuated", "verisimilitude" or "solipsistic", that's why I know you're not the true Spock0Clock. Reported.

What sucks, as much as Black Adam has been tabled, seemingly for a 1/2 decade. They are probably waiting to see how Shazam fairs in theatres.
The ballzy mode would have Sivana encounter him like in the new52 to get his power and then have part 1 end with Adam showing up.

They don’t put that kind of faith in their squad anymore

Oh DCEU... I've enjoyed all of your movies, but you're fighting an uphill battle.

I read Shazam as a younger person and liked it, wasn't a fan to be honest but it was ok, sadly the DC Films version of him is a bit weird even if you take in to account its a kids mental version of him, also form what little has been seen its so far very very PG 13 oriented, I've only heard the reaction from the trailer at events and it sounded like people enjoyed it but I didn't, I think they have a real chance of a big dud here, add the fact that people are expecting anything DC cinema to fail and the notion of a future follow up film seems rather tenuous at the mo..

It's a shame the DCEU is like an abandoned strip mall. Because Shazam looks downright solid. It could be the best movie they've ever done imo.

I'm still totally stoked about this movie. I just wish it wasn't so far away.

☝🏽Depending on what your reading; there’s basically two different idealogies for Billy’s transformation.
1. The best version of himself (this is most evident in Kingdom Come)
2. The idealistic version billy has of a hero/his dad (this allows him to be other people too, I think he was an uncle once or something)
Fun fact: Originally Captain Marvel’s features were based on Fred MacMurray, aka the Dad from My three Sons/Nutty Professor.

I'm a bit more excited for this than I am Aquaman. So far, I've enjoyed everything I've seen from Levi. Props to the casting department on this one.

Even if the two boys are a bit miscast.
