Shazam! played in select theaters this weekend and details about the movie have inevitably started leaking online as a result. While we won't be delving into the plot itself quite yet, we do have some intel for you on the post-credits scenes so you can decide whether they're worth sticking around for.
We also have a major spoiler regarding whether or not any members of the
Justice League appear, but we are, of course, referring specifically to Superman.
For months now, we've heard conflicting reports about the Man of Steel's status for this movie. The trades have reported that Henry Cavill ended up walking away from the role of Superman because Warner Bros. didn't meet his financial demands, and everything went downhill from there. So, does the cameo happen? Well, you can find out by hitting the "View List" button below.
Post-Credits Scene #1
The defeated Dr. Sivana is in a prison cell and can be seen painting symbols of the Seven Deadly Sins on the walls. Suddenly, Mister Mind, one of Shazam's primary villains in the comic books, appears and he looks identical to his comic book counterpart.
He talks to Sivana and drops some hints about the Monster Society of Evil appearing down the line, an indication that Warner Bros. may be holding off on pitting Shazam against Black Adam.
Post-Credits Scene #2
This one doesn't sound like it's worth sticking around for as it addresses a running gag from the movie, as Shazam attempts to talk to a fish as Freddy Freeman watches.
Yes, this scene has been shown in the TV spots for the movie and is bound to disappoint those hoping for at least a glimpse of Black Adam or another notable character.
Does Superman Appear?
Yes, he does...sort of. Right at the end of the movie before the credits roll, Shazam shows up at school to talk about how Freddy has taught him everything he knows about being a hero and he's brought a friend: the Man of Steel!
We never see his face, though, and while he's wearing the
Justice League costume, it's pretty obvious that Warner Bros. either didn't use Henry Cavill to film this cameo, or they cut the scene in a certain way to avoid us seeing the actor now he's walked away from playing Superman.
