AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Interview Sees Tom Holland Nearly Spoil Marvel's Plans For Miles Morales

Tom Holland really can't keep a secret! Despite not knowing who Miles Morales is, Doctor Strange's Benedict Cumberbatch keeps Holland from spilling top-secret info about Marvel's plans for the character.

While out promoting Avengers: Infinity War, Spider-Man actor Tom Holland was asked if we'll ever see Miles Morales in the MCU.  "I'm sure down the line, it has to happen...I'd love to work with Miles, I think it would be great.  We've definitely put the building blocks in. There's been a few teases in the first film."

An innocent enough response, however, Doctor Strange's Benedict Cumberbatch then revealed that he had no idea who Miles Morales was and that's when the interview got rather interesting. Cumberbatch jokingly began exclaiming that we haven't yet told Peter Parker's full MCU story and 'we're already asking about alternate versions?'  That's when Holland began explaining that Peter and Miles work together (any Marvel comics reader could tell you that for the bulk of Miles' existence, they actually never cross paths as Peter is dead in the now-defunct Ultimate Universe).

"They work as a team.  Well, actually in the version that...well, I don't want to talk about this because I might-

It certainly sounded as if Holland was about to discuss "the version" that Marvel Studios is currently working on introducing in the MCU, potentially in the sequel to Homecoming.  Donald Glover had a guest role in the first film as Miles Morales' uncle and explicitly made mention of his nephew.  Kevin Feige has previously stated that Glover role in the film was very intentional.

@csims1885 - exactly. We have only had one movie with the real Peter Parker as a kid, I want to see him grow. Don’t want the focus on the poor man’s Sipdey.

I hope they go down the path of the video game where Pete has like 8 years under his belt as Spidey and he and Miles kinda meet each other when Pete is 23 and Miles is 15.

@TheIronDuck - No we don't know yet. Considering they're keeping Leiv Shreiber's role secret, maybe he's playing an evil version of Peter. But so far we just have Miles and his family known.

I like the idea of a teenage Peter trying to mentor a thirteen year old Miles. Remember, he WAS that young when he first appeared... And it could potentially lead to a rather charming big-brother/little-brother dynamic between the two.

Just my two cents.

Blargh. Nope. Homecoming is still the most disappointing of all MCU movies for me. Maybe it's because I always connected with Spider-Man as a kid and for a third time in the movies, it feels like they missed key components of the mythos. Spider-Man/Peter were done right in the MCU, but almost everything surrounding him is wrong. I also have never felt the connection with Miles Morales. Just seemed very derivative rather than creating something unique and its own thing that could be great.

Marvel are probably on the verge of banning Tom from doing any press for future Marvel movies as he's bound to let something slip. Either that or they'll implant an explosive device in his head that they can detonate when a spoiler is imminent LOL!

If they have Peter working at the same time and with Miles ala the Ultimate Spider-Man tv show this version of Spider-Man definitely gets knocked further down the totem pole.

I really do love Miles I do but I think Peter should get 3 movies of his own before we introduce him. I never understood the hate he gets but hey what can ya do. I’d like to see him down the line and Peter be his older mentor and Miles is his apprentice kinda

Can Miles just go away already? He is the absolute worst and one of the most boring characters ever put in comics. It gets so annoying seeing people want Miles and most of the time it's from people who don't even read comics.

I hate Bendis with every fibre of my being for tainting the Marvel universe with Miles! If Miles becomes Spider-Man in the MCU I will never, ever watch a MCU film again.

Introducing Miles is a no brainer as it'll be a natural progression of Peter's arc, from rookie to full-blown hero to mentor. I expect him to be introduced either in the 3rd film or at the start of a new trilogy of Spidey films.

He may have just released some huge news ok the sequel
