Everyone's favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will be donning the Iron Spider suit when he joins the mightiest heroes of Earth and the galaxy to prevent Thanos from acquiring all the infinity stones in next month's Avengers: Infinity War. However, as with every character in the MCU, we can expect an upgrade in the costume department for Spidey when he swings onto the screen in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. We recently had our first glimpse at what appears to be an upgraded, new suit for Spider-Man courtesy of some concept art for the superhero-themed Disneyland Resort. Now, we have an even better look at this possible new outfit,
As you can see below, this new suit has a more traditional look. The spider symbol is much bigger than on the Civil War and Homecoming suit, with more pronounced, longer legs that are more in line with how the spider is depicted in modern designs. Additionally, the extent of black on this suit appears to be restricted to black bands around the wrists, which are the web shooters (in the other concept art, the web shooters were quite large and prominent). The rest of the suit features the classic red and blue color scheme, with traditional black webbing on the red sections, something that the previous MCU suit lacked.
However, this new concept art does reveal an interesting characteristic. There is a set of bright, pale blue lines radiating throughout the darker blue portions of the suit, a detail that was missing in the initial art of this updated costume. It is unclear if this lighter blue color is woven into the suit itself, and is therefore present whenever Spidey swings into action, or perhaps the bright blue indicates a "powered-up" Spidey with a special ability. A powered up function would be a little reminiscent of T'Challa's new Black Panther suit, and we do know that Peter Parker will be meeting Shuri in the next two Avengers films; perhaps she helps Peter out with his new suit?
Check out the new suit below:
What do you think about the new look now that we have a better view of the possible upgraded suit? How do you think this suit compare to the one's we have seen already in the MCU? Is this suit closer to how you would like to see Spider-Man appear in the sequel to
Homecoming? Be sure to leave your thoughts below!
