After Logan Lerman was confirmed and then debunked as the front runner in pretty much the same day any casting news on this project should be taken with a pinch of salt. But IESB are now reporting that another name has emerged in connection with the new wall crawler..
IESB has exclusively heard another candidate is on the short list for Pete Parker and his web-slinging alter-ego – Josh Hutcherson...Let's be clear on this, folks. We're not saying he has the role.
If you haven't heard of Hutcherson its because he hasn't really made any high profile movies yet. He played Brendan Fraser's nephew in Journey to the Center of the Earth, and also appeared in Zathura and Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant. Apparently he is also appearing in the upcoming Red Dawn remake.
Hutcherson is 18, but looks about 12 so based on looks alone I'm not thinking too much of this.
IESB say they are awaiting word from Hutcherson's publicists to confirm or debunk, but since these guys broke the news of Joss Whedon directing
The Avengers which turned out(seemingly) to be on the money, I wouldn't bet against this.
