Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was supposed to swing into theaters this year, likely explaining why merchandise has already started finding its way into stores!
Spider-Punk's role has already been confirmed, and we now have a closer look at Miles Morales' updated Spider-Man costume. For starters, it appears to be a little more streamlined and has lost that homemade feel as a result. Clearly, the teenager has had time to give himself some upgrades since we last saw him!
In terms of reveals, there's not much else here, but we are excited to see it in action.
"Comics are the R&D and the foundation for all these franchises, but oftentimes the creators barely get a mention in the credits," co-director Joaquim Dos Santos told IndieWire earlier this year. "So making sure they’re a part of this is super important."
This costume definitely respects the source material, and remains faithful to Miles' classic look (albeit with a few understandable tweaks and upgrades). His comic book counterpart has recently been decked out in a completely new design, though it's one fans have rejected for the most part.
Hopefully, we'll get a new look at Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse soon. For now, though, these toys are doing a spectacular job of offering an idea of what to expect!
In the movie, Miles returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga for an epic adventure that will transport Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man across the Multiverse to join forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of Spider-People to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently set to be released in theaters on June 2, 2023.
