Sony Eyeing Ryan Gosling For SINISTER SIX, But He Wants In On GHOSTBUSTERS

"Sony Hack" time! Ryan Gosling (The Place Beyond the Pines) is pretty picky with movies, something which makes it all the more surprising that he wants the lead male role in Paul Feig's Ghostbusters reboot. However, the studio are keen on him possibly joining Sinister Six.

The latest "Sony Hack" details to find their way online pertain to Ryan Gosling, the beloved (and notoriously picky) actor who is apparently very keen to work with the studio after meeting with Amy Pascal. In an email exchange between her and Michael De Luca, co-president of production for Columbia Pictures, she asks what projects he's specifically interested in and is told: "It’s Ghostbusters according to Ilene." In another email, it's revealed that there is one male part in the planned reboot and it could be that this is the one Gosling is keen on. It's also reiterated that Bridesmaids director Paul Feig wants Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence for key roles. Pascal however is keen on offering the actor a number of other pars too, and tells a colleague to ask him about both Sinister Six and the Steve Jobs biopic. Gosling was also considered for Doctor Strange and Suicide Squad, so it's hard to imagine him saying yes, but could Sony want him as their new Spider-Man? It's unlikely we'll ever find out or he'll agree to the project unfortunately...

Let's be honest: all the women in the Ghostbusters movie probably want Ryan Gosling in that one male role as well.

Don't understand why he's never been interested in comic book movies. The guys talented, but his attitude will lose him fans. Hate how some people think CBMs are beneath them, even though GOTG, XMen: DOFP & The Winter Soldier were 3 of the best movies this year!

@thedarknight1939 Ryan Gosling, would never sign some ridiculous long-term contract with Disney\Marvel Studios. He doesn't need it.

Ghostbusters reboot sounds horrible

Sinister Six sounds incredible. We all know which one should be cancelled.

@Minty With actors like Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Samuel L Jackson, Amy Adams, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Douglas, Anthony Hopkins, Hugo Weaving, Robert Downey Jr, and Robert Redford (I'm sure I'm forgetting plenty of other high-quality, legendary actors/actresses too) willing to be in comic book movie roles, and even someone like Al Pacino who wants in, how can anyone possibly think that a comic book movie is "beneath" them?

@DexterDouglas

This is why you stick behind a computer screen and let casting directors do their job.

Ah yes, add Michael Fassbender, Sir Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, and Jennifer Lawrence to that list too.

At this point, i dont care about Sony, it should just revert to Marvel.

@TuckstheHalls
"Sinister Six sounds incredible. We all know which one should be cancelled."

Dont forget part of the script for Sinister Six involves the Sinister Six teasing Spider-man so much that he gets rid of his black costume. As such i doubt it is anything near 'Incredible'

They should cast an unknown as Spider-Man and for an entire movie, we ONLY get Spider-Man. No Peter Parker.

Then can then cast whoever the hell they want to be the "voice" of Spider-Man. Maybe someone like Sean William Scott.. who could be a pretty funny/sarcastic sounding Spider-Man.

Just don't take off the mask.. leave Peter out of it. Focus on Spider-Man and Spider-Man only. They can do that be throwing him into a Marvel movie or whatever.. we need a break from Peter, and we need a great Spider-Man.

@SauronsBANE - Exactly. Actors and Directors wanna work with the best - and right now a lot of them are in CBMs. Yet occasionally you see one who gets a little snarky if asked if they want a role like that. Gosling's one as I recall (though don't 100% quote me on that). But yeah that list is [frick]ing impressive dude! One thing though, you're missing Kat Dennings :P

Ryan Gosling refuses to do sequels that's why he is not in the Suicide Squad.

Maybe he was a big Ghostbusters fan as a kid and to be a part of the sequel would be a dream for him. Maybe he doesn't give a $#!+ about super heroes.

@Minty Haha yeah I gotta say, if I were an actor, I'd be pretty careful before I say that I find the entire genre to be beneath me...when there's quite an all-star team of actors and actresses (and directors too, good point!) who apparently didn't think comic book movies were beneath them.

And oh man, not sure how I let Kat Dennings slip my mind! Haha

I'm starting to believe this "hack" is a marketing ploy. I what world does the super picky Ryan Gosling say "you know what project I've been dying to do? Not Flash, Not Doctor Strange, and certainly not Marvel's Take on Spiderman! Instead, let me do that Ghostbusters reboot that's been in development hell for more than 20 years!"

Come on... there's seriously something fishy here, and it's not that he passed on Aquaman (pun intended)
