Spider-Man Could Use a Batman-Style Reboot

Spider-Man Could Use a Batman-Style Reboot

The Spider-Man movies are becoming just like the Batman movies of the 1990's. Could a reboot bring back the Spider-Man we know and love?

Spider-Man like Batman are two very powerful characters of their universes. Both being super popular they brought back comic book fans to the mainstream media. However, both have had their share of bad movies: Spider-Man 3 and the horrid performances known only as Batman and Robin. Even though Batman movies have been around longer then Spider-Man, I do believe that Spider-Man could use a reboot. the first two spidey films are great so are the first two of the Batman movies. Three was the point where people started turing away. Spider-Man three had it's hits and misses more misses then hits I should say but it still brought enough money to make a spidey four. I thought Batman forever was a great movie but some believe that this turn from dark to dark comedy lead Batman to the point of failure. I also felt that both franchies follwed the same paths in Batman, Batman returns and Batman forever the villians died. follow Spider-Man 1,2, and 3 and you see it follows the same path. If you also take a look at both movies the first two films of both franchies bring out the heroes heavy hitter villians with Batman bringing out the joker and Spider-Man having green goblin and both died at the ends of both films. that is kinda scary if you look at it. thankfully we had Chris Nolan pick up the pieces with Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. hopefully Spider-Man four doesn't fail but if it does I hope that a skillful director like nolan can pick up the pieces of Spider-Man and return him to glory. I just hope it doesn't tkae the number of years it took for Batman.

gotta agree with LEE. Rebooting is not always the best way Dogs. Sometimes you gotta stick to a franchise even with its cracks in it, because a sequel may fix up on a past installment's mistakes (hopefully with f4)

As much as I think they messed up big with Spider-man (unlike most I think it started to go wrong from the begining - Cyber-Goblin wtf was that all about!)

Instead of looking at how things could have been - make the appropriate changes, while keeping some of the feel (e.g. comedy and strife) but this time please keep away from over use of CGI and focus on one main villain.

Sometimes I think a re-boot may be in order, but I don't think it is necessary in this case. Just make the next film AMAZING and make up or the garbage that was Spiderman 3. I think it will be just fine. However, if this film is anywhere near the level Spiderman 3 was, the franchise will be in trouble.

oh come on, spiderman was no where near as bad as the batman movies of the 90's. Sure Rami killed off the villians like they did in the burton movies but unlike the burton movies spiderman had a better narrative cohesion. I'll grant you the third was a misstep but from all accounts that is the blame of the studio, rami wanted to do a sandman centered movie but the studio wanted venom. If the whole movie had been like the parts with spidey and sandman I think we would have seen a much better picture. There is no need for a reboot, the studio just needs to learn it's place and stay out of directing.

I want someone else to play Batman in the reboot movie in 20133. Also, I want a different Robin and Bat girl.
