For the past two weeks, Peter Parker has faced a seemingly endless rogues gallery thanks to a bounty placed on his head by a mysterious entity. Marvel's Spider-Man's four-part story arc, Bring on the Bad Guys, wrapped up last week, though we're still left wondering who exactly is responsible for the bounty. We'll hopefully get some answers this week as part of yet another doubleheader for the animated series.

Brain Drain and The Living Brain, episodes 12 and 13 of season 2, respectively, will air today, August 13. Ahead of their debut on Disney XD, we have a brand new sneak peek clip of The Living Brain. The clip previews a showdown between Spider-Man who, along with Miles Morales and Anya Corazon (aka Spider-Girl), takes on Beetle while working towards The Living Brain. Marvel teases even more battles with Electro and Jack O'Lantern, both of which popped up in Bring on the Bad Guys, as Spider-Man continues to uncover who is behind the bounty.

“Brain Drain” (6:30 – 7:00PM ET/PT)
Spider-Man and Miles Morales track down the final clue to who has been behind the bounty on Spider-Man.

“The Living Brain” (7:00 – 7:30PM ET/PT)
Spider-Man must fight his way through a Police Station under lockdown, facing Electro, Jack O' Lantern, and Beetle, in order to challenge The Living Brain.

Tune in to Marvel's Spider-Man today, August 13, at 6:30 pm ET/PT on Disney XD to see who the mastermind behind the bounty really is. Today's episodes should also mark a mid-season break in Marvel's Spider-Man, but stay tuned for more details on that.

I still have hope for a Spectacular Spider-Man revival one day. We've got Young Justice and Teen Titans coming back. Hopefully it's just a matter of time.

@Nightwing1015 - But why would Disney do that, when they've replaced it with multiple Spider-Man cartoons since then? I wonder if it was the show's ratings, that weren't spectacular enough, even though fans really dig it.

@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - They would do it because Spectacular is loved more than any Spider-Man cartoon in history and had 3 seasons left un-produced. The only reason it was cancelled in the first place was because Disney got the TV rights back from Sony.

They would also do it because their current Spider-Man cartoon is hated in comparison to Spectacular.

@Nightwing1015 - Would be better, but unfortunately it won't.....instead Disney is keeping to deliver some new trashes since 2012.

What is it with these new Marvel animation series and the lack of shading on the characters? It makes them look flat and drab giving things an overall unpolished look.

Compare this:

to these:

I'm no expert in art or animation, but a little bit of shading goes a long way to give characters some dimension and make them pop.

@guyatadesk - Well we've gotta separate art style from animation. The 90s series had the most detailed art style and some may like it the most, but Spectacular's simpler character models facilitated more fluid animation, helping to deliver (IMO) better action scenes.

@guyatadesk - "Best animation?" These are still images...

@BIGBMH - While I fully agree Spectacular had the most fluid animation.
That's not really an apt comparison since in the 90's show Peter was without his powers at the time. So had to take them out using his brain.

@Jahleel007 - Doesn't change that the lack of shading makes the first one look the worst.
I can't even tell if that's supposed to be ground he's on.

@shadowspider9 - Fair. I didn't remember the context and just thought the staging of a 1 vs 6 fight would be a good comparison. I think it still provides a decent sample of how movement looks in both shows though.

I always watch these clips and tell myself if one of them is good I’ll give the show a shot. Still haven’t been able to try.

@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - Was about to comment how I didn’t know Marvel has a huntress who looked exactly like DCs until I noticed the top left corner of the cover...

Not the Spider-Girl you’re thinking of.

@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - There has been about 4 or 5 characters that have used the name Spider-girl.
