SPIDER-MAN PS4 Concept Art Focuses On The Sinister Six And Alternate Mister Negative Designs

Spider-Man arguably stole the show at E3 last week and now some new concept art has shown up focusing on four members of the Sinister Six and surprisingly different designs for big bad, Mister Negative.

E3 featured a lot of cool reveals (nothing from Arkham developers Rocksteady, unfortunately) but Spider-Man stole the show in a spectacular gameplay video featuring the wall-crawler doing battle with five out of six members of the Sinister Six. Now, some concept art from the title has been revealed and it focuses on fan-favourite bad guys like Mister Negative, the Scorpion, Electro, Rhino, and The Vulture.

As well as a couple of alternate designs, we get a much closer look at these villains and I definitely think an argument could be made that any one of these costumes would look pretty great in the MCU!

So, to check them out, all you have to do is click on the "View List" button below. There
are some piece of artwork focusing on key moments in the game but nothing which would be considered a spoiler so don't fret about any key moments being ruined. These will, however, get you seriously psyched to play.

Up until recently, the Scorpion's comic book appearance has remained pretty simple and this concept art does a great job of blending the past, present, and something original for the upcoming game.

The final version of the villain's suit looks great and this honestly wouldn't look out of place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Mac Gargan is rumoured to be suiting up in the Homecoming sequel.

This is a very different take on Mister Negative and, as you can see, he's been totally reimagined and given a less traditional appearance as his trademark suit has been swapped for a hoodie.

This will obviously be a little more familiar to comic book fans and while it's good that the developers have chosen to stick closely to the source material, it wouldn't have hurt to see them take some risks.

This gorgeous piece of concept art shows Spider-Man going to war in a battle which will presumably be a boss fight in the game. As you can see, it looks like Max Dillon may be attacking part of Oscorp.

Electro's costume is incredibly hard to adapt to live-action but it's still a shame to see it changed to such a large extent here as his original look is so iconic. For what it is, though, it definitely works.

Another character with an iconic comic book appearance which is hard to adapt, this version works really well, especially as it's a mixture of armour and a costume it's easy to imagine him being stuck in.

Some fans weren't happy with how much Spider-Man: Homecoming's Vulture veered from the source material but this take on the character seems to be a pretty perfect balance of that and the comics.

What do you guys think of this concept art from the PS4-exclusive Spider-Man? Are you looking forward to taking on these villains? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

I think the best Scorpion has ever looked was something like this:

Maybe shave off a couple of those hook blade things, but I like how it's simultaneously hulking, yet doesn't feel like it rivals characters like Rhino in size.

I'm really liking what Insomniac have done with the designs so far. Especially loved the shocker design.

Looks like Insomniac has gotten a lot of the stuff right so far, I just hope they can live up to the hype.

I hate the overall aesthetic of this game. The gameplay and everything else look awesome though. Can't wait for September!

- Vulture and Scorpion look good, hopefully they look more like that in the MCU.

- The open parts in Rhino's suit looks weird and pointless. Just make it look like the ultimate version.

- Electro is probably one of the hardest comic book costumes to pull off, it doesn't help that the green and yellow colors give him a campy look. I like what they did here it's one of the better looking electro redesigns, it's slit better then AS2 bye far.

I feel like Mister Negative is a really weak choice for a Spidey villain in this. He doesn't realy seem to have any threat to him.

I like all of these for what they are (more realistic, tech-based versions that would fit well in the MCU). Scorpion in particular looks really cool.

It’s wierd but I feel like the only way to adapt Spidey villain costumes for cinema really faithfully is if a film were made kind of in the style of Legion. Not the surrealism and time bending stuff, more the retro futurism feel. That show has such a wierd science meets 1960s vibe that they could go camp and colourful and zany without it being lame. Would love in the future to see something like that, maybe when everything is rebooted again. When you hyperstylize things, like with Watchmen or Sin City, you can really lean into the campier elements but still make them cool by going retro.

@connorblaze -

So there are two narratives. One where they get gear that either casual or a prototype. The other is where it's clear as day a costume. In the MCU I think we can move into that territory now. Spider-man clearly wearing a suit designed to be flashy.

So we can start going that direction where people take names and costumes that are more stylish vs functional.

Really though the classic suits are a blank canvas. Simple enough that you can take them anywhere. You don't need to put Electro in a black suit and give him blue skin.

This game looks cool but the gameplay mechanics look too similar to the TASM games. That worries me.

Looks amazing and spectacular. If only it was on Xbox. I miss playing Spider-Man games, but I'll never own another PlayStation.

The concept looks amazing. I feel like this game has been promoted for 10 years. And I will say, sort of off topic, I liked the way Vulture looked in Homecoming. But I wouldn’t mind him getting upgraded to similar to these concepts.

I think the designs could be less armored for the Sinister Six but I still like how the end product is looking. Very happy Mister Negative is part of this too, he's my fave villain from the post One More Day storyline.

A little too much armor in some places but very cool overall.

Would be cool if Insomniac developed more Marvel games.

Mister Negative isn't wearing a hoodie in that concept art. It's his suit jacket appearing to go over his head.

Cool, just wish there was some variety among the designs, scorpion rhino and vulture look like they got their suits from a guy that likes making enhancement suits based off animals
Hoping mysterio is in this
