Well with no ground breaking news the last couple of weeks we finally get a trickle. Sam Raimi spoke to Sci Fi Wire regarding what stage the Spider Man 4 script is in.

"Right now, David Lindsay-Abaire ['Inkheart'] is working on a draft of the new picture," Raimi said Monday. "And he's hard at work, and hopefully we'll see something in about three months."

Sweet,, three months is a good amount of time for Mr. David Lindsay-Abaire to put some time and effort into a quality script. As long as Sam and company keep the Sony suits away from putting there two cents in (believe me, two cents is all there thoughts are worth) it has a chance to be a fan hit and not just a blind money maker for the studio.

There have been tons of speculation lately on who Spidey will go up against in the next installment of the franchise. Sam goes on to comment: "I'm not at liberty to discuss the villains yet," Raimi said. "I think I have to wait till the finished screenplay, and then it'd really be up to Sony Pictures and the producers to determine when they want to release that information. To them, it's usually a big, a big, big thing, a big moment where they want to present the villain with the proper respect or fear that he or she deserves."

Hopefully the main villain is not a she. Black Cat is cool and hopefully she has a cameo, but there is no way she has the firepower to be the main villain. Believe me the villain is already known, the script would not be possible to write if Sam hasn't picked one yet to focus on. Whatever villain Sam has chosen I am confident he will make it a success. They want a repeat of Spiderman 3 money but not the bad press that movie received.
