Mania.com broke the story:

"We can exclusively reveal that actress Rachel McAdams has met with the producers of the film for a major role. McAdams (of 'Wedding Crashers' and 'Sherlock Holmes' fame) is said to be a top contender for the role of Felicia Hardy, known to comic fans as The Black Cat."

Finally a piece of major news. If this holds true it will please a lot of fans.

But what about The Lizard getting his chance to wreak havoc on New York City? Mania.com has also learned that Raimi is going the two villain route, their source says Raimi and company are trying to cast a yet unnamed Villain. Which puts the kaboosh on The Lizard rumors as Dr. Curt Conners is already cast and has been since Spider-Man 2. Unless off course they are referring to "The Lizard" side of Doc Conners but more then likely that will be a CGI effect. Not that that's a bad thing, but it is what it is.

I guess I don't understand how much character build up time is required to get "The Lizard" on screen? It's already set up! All we can hope for is that Raimi will take his time and let Spidey grow up(Spidey is a smart ass, has been since forever), maybe a taste of Kitty will help that happen.

But who will be the film's main baddie?
