SUICIDE SQUAD: New Details On Jared Leto's "Comedic" Take On 'The Joker' Emerge

That image of Leto with green hair may have been photoshopped, but we now have some new information on the actor's plans for a "more cerebral and comedic" take on the Clown Prince of Crime for David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Click on for the details...

Hollywood Life have some inside information on Jared Leto's preparations to play The Joker in David Ayer's Suicide Squad adaptation, which is gearing up to shoot in Toronto very soon. According to them, the actor is confident that his interpretation of the iconic Batman villain will be the "best yet", and he will do everything he can to set his Joker apart and not step on the toes of Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger's portrayals of the character.

“He wants to make the character completely his own. He knows that this role may be his most difficult ever, but he is confident that he will make his version of the Joker the best. This Joker will be more cerebral and comedic than what we have seen before, nobody should expect a copycat version. It’s going to be awesome!”

It's nice to know he's planning something different, but some fans are a bit worried about what they've been hearing. After all, stray too far from the essence of the character... and you're left with a different character! I can't imagine that will happen though, and am looking forward to seeing what Leto and Ayer have in store for us. What about you guys? We've been getting lots of little teases of leto's Joker look recently, and with production set to kick off on the movie soon, many suspect that a full reveal is not far away so keep an eye on CBM.

I'm so ready for this movie. I'm hoping for a R-rating (it doesn't have to be though). If not, get me an unrated version on DVD (like they did with Wolverine).

Suicide Squad is going to be something we've never seen before. I'm honestly shocked Warner Brothers had the balls to go through with it. And I thank them, and I thank David Ayer.

I just want to hear the voice he's gonna use. I have a feeling he's going to take inspiration more from Mark Hamill than Heath Ledger.

Suicide Squad will be the best CBM we'll get in a long time. Better than BvS, better than AOU, even better than Civil War. Can't wait!

Hopefully we'll get one that is closer to the comics.

Although several of the Jokers so far have been good.

Are his eyebrows shaved off in that picture?

I hope he goes all body-mod and slices his tongue into a forked tongue. Do it, Leto. It'll be worth it.

Jack set the bar for an accurate Joker. lets face it as captivating as heaths was, it was a reinvention and a joker in name only.
